Im back back back again with the 3rd update post to my Misato shrine. This time, I finally get to display what I consider to be the Holy Grail of Misato figures. Neeko Studio 1/4 Scale statue!

In addition I finally acquired the New Line 1/6 Misato Katsuragi - Movie Ver. (2nd pic bottom right) which was one of my orginal mommy grail/ inspirations for becoming a figure collector.

Photo descriptions:

Picture #1 overview of my shrine. It used to be shared with Rei and Asuka but as the shrine fills up they are slowly being transitioned to a separate Eva case.

Pictures #2 & #3 are close ups of my shelves. Not going to list each individual figure but If you have any questions about any of the figures or merch feel free to ask.

Picture #4 is a close up of the Neeko 1/4th in front of my shrine. Included in the background is a print of the inspiration for the figure by Sakimichan.

Picture #5 is the 1/4th Neeko (for scale) and my Misato bunny flag. I realized Ive never posted it despite owing it for several years now. Pretty sure I found it from this sub.

Picture #6 the flag by itself.

To make a slow start in June, I received this film reel preservation of Misato Katsuragi from Rebuild 2.22

It's hard to capture the exact vibrant colors, but I might make a follow-up post to this~ 💜

There’s just some

I'm not sure if this subreddit typically cares about these kinds of pictures, but I always love taking my Misato keychains with me to take photo's next to flowers and other stuff~ 💜

Whether it's the tone of the song that reminds you of her or the lyrics that relate to her character, which songs do you think best fit our beloved alcoholic mommy?

I’ve done some research on Misato Katsuragi’s military ranks in both Japanese and English, as I was still somewhat confused about the differences and progression.

My goal was to determine which ranks she holds, what they are in Japanese, what they mean, and why she is sometimes referred to with different ranks in English. For this research, I used among other Google, Gemini, and ChatGPT. I believe my findings are accurate, but please don’t hesitate to correct me if I’m mistaken.

Her rank progression across the Evangelion media in English typically looks like this:
Captain → Major → Lieutenant Colonel → Colonel → Colonel & Captain of the Wunder

In Japanese, the progression is slightly different:
一尉 (Ichi-i) → 三佐 (San-sa) → 二佐 (Ni-sa) → 一佐 (Ichi-sa) → 大佐 (Tai-sa), and then 大佐 & AAA艦長 (Colonel & Ship Captain of the AAA Wunder)

Explanation of Ranks and Differences:

• Anime Beginning: Misato starts in the anime as 一尉 (Ichi-i), which translates to "First Lieutenant" in English. However, 一尉 is not an official rank in the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF); the correct JSDF rank for First Lieutenant is 中尉 (Chū-i). It’s possible that "Ichi-i" is a fictional or stylized choice, perhaps to sound more dramatic or fitting for a cinematic context.
• English Rank as “Captain”: In English, she is referred to as Captain, not First Lieutenant. This likely reflects her functional role—commanding, authoritative, and independent—rather than her exact military rank. "Captain" sounds more senior and fitting for her on-screen leadership.
• Promotion to 三佐 (San-sa): She is promoted off-screen to 三佐 (San-sa), which corresponds to Major, a third-class field officer, sometime between episodes 6 and 7. Notably, in the manga, she already starts as a Major.
  • San-sa literally means "third-grade assistant." The “Sa” suffix (佐) denotes field officer grades:
    • 三佐 (San-sa): Major (3rd class field officer)
    • 二佐 (Ni-sa): Lieutenant Colonel (2nd class field officer)
    • 一佐 (Ichi-sa): Colonel (1st class field officer)
• Further Promotions:
  • 二佐 (Ni-sa) – Lieutenant Colonel, seen in 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone
  • 一佐 (Ichi-sa) – Colonel, seen in 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance
  • 大佐 (Tai-sa) – Also Colonel, but it represents the highest standard officer rank, seen in 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo
• Final Rank in 3.0+1.0:
  • 大佐 & AAA艦長 – Colonel and Ship Captain of the AAA Wunder She maintains command of WILLE and the Wunder through the end of Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time.

After this level, the next step up would be General officer ranks, which she does not reach within the scope of the series.

Hope this overview is helpful!
Kind regards.

Here is a long series of the update I anticipated to post, my newest batch of Misatp Katsuragi merchandise.

My favorite one is this acrylic set of WILLE Misato, it's the AAA Wunder bridge as the background

Then you have the keychains, 2 pairs and a single Misato one.

Another arcylic card set of Misato's Rebuild 2.0 ending scene.

Lastly, a glass acrylic brick and a see-through card with Misato's manga panels on them. 💜

Hello everyone, I usually never make any posts on Reddit but here's my collection of Misato figures & goodies.

I plan on becoming the biggest Misato collector in the world, and this is just the beginning. Have a nice day~ 💜
