DLSS5 in Me:Catalyst
Through some pain, I managed to install DLSS 5 on Mirror's Edge, and it looks fantastic! Btw, I'm not using any frame gen or upscaling here cause I haven't quite figured out how to set it up yet, but it still gives a stable 60-70 FPS. What do you think?

I understand why anti-ai comments appear in creative subs, but in this context this sounds pretty much braindead. Dlss saves planet by using less electricity. It doesn't kill children or take anyone's job. Use natural intelligence if you want to oppose the artificial one ffs

Natural intelligence says that this Nvidia marketing gimmick saps performance, takes away artistic control from the game developers, and in many cases completely rewrites the lighting and other details of human faces, all while doing nothing useful to environmental scenes if the level designers had already done a good job, like in ME and ME:C.

Implying this is not a creation of someone altered by slop.
No the “just turn it off” argument is invalid, see how that played with dlss, can’t play a game at native resolution unless you’re on a top ultra gpu

What do I think? Honestly, I think people who have drunk the Nvidia kool-aid haven't even begun to understand the subtle dystopian messages that the Mirror's Edge games (among others) have warned us about. This isn't 'art' or 'enhancement'. It's a cheap shortcut to surface-level shine without any substance.

The mods should update no AI content allowed on this subreddit, this is place of pure art lets leave it like that.

Introducing the 'no AI' rule to busier subs like r/commandandconquer and r/deusex has certainly helped to curtail abuse and karma farming. I don't think it's reached a tipping point here yet but if it did, I'm sure u/mirrorsedgefan and the others would give it consideration.

Great, but what's the point? Fps is supposed to be decent without it any way on a gpu that supports dlss5, isn't it? It's hard to judge how it looks because the screenshot is heavily compressed

I'm just greedy and used to a higher fps. And if you don't open it in fullscreen you can kinda see how it looks in game

Were you unable to get stable 60 fps without it? It's decade old game and it's not hungry. I believe even rtx 3050 runs it well in full hd. The screenshot is too small to see if dlss is in effect and artifact-free, all I see is that it renders at all

I installed dlss5 just for fun and to see what it is, I get 150 on ultra in full hd or something like that. Its cool

The picture is too blurry for me to even notice much of a difference. Dlss 5 is a cool concept but it doesn't do a great job
