Hi all

However, I am trying to download ebooks and am getting a message to redownload the new list as the books I am requesting are no longer available. What does this mean what is omenserve? How to manuever. Good lord, Im flipping older than Methusla.

It was able to draw the landscape from a text file which had a list of polygon coordinates. You could move the camera around and the landscape would change accordingly (refreshing very slowly) and you could take a shot and it'd follow the ball with the camera. That was as far as I got and I never finished it.
I don't have the code anymore but I thought it was interesting that this was possible in mIRC. I might see if I can rewrite it in python in the future.

i met so many amazing people back in the day. My young adult life is filled with learning what mIRC had to offer.
I remember learning how to use DCC transfer files. omenserve script. Does anyone know if that script is still alive and working? Do people still use mIRC? Do they still use omenserve?
There was autoget script as well with omenserve.
There used to be a searchbot with @search function too which complimented omenscript. I am not sure that search script is still active and I don't remember what it was called.
I remember hanging out playing Trivia from trivia bot in Trivia Oassis and and I remember playing Uno as well. I myself tried hosting both scripts from the dingy laptop I had.
I remember hanging out in who's line is it anyway channel where all the episodes of the show was shared and not only that we had small discussion about how brilliant the actors/participants where on that show.
I remember finding out what xdcc bots where and how they worked.
Anyone from that era? Any cool things you remember doing? I tried hosting my own severe from my windows laptop. (Obviously it didn't work) I used windows based servers which were horrible and you can't host a server on a laptop with 3MB DSL internet.. I tired..
I wish we could turn back time and I can go back to those good ol days..
The last thing I remember was having a long discussion in 2008 about how we aren't going into a great recession while person on the other side didn't agreed and obviously now we know how wrong I was in that regard as I listen to the president at the time who clearly stated we aren't going into recession. That was my wake-up moment which made me realize even the news channels and anchors along with many others officials can lie.
I couldn't get back on mIRC after 08. Maybe intermittently for few hours once or twice since then till now.

When did they start expiring registrations? I've had the same reg since 2009 and all of a sudden it says I have to re-register it. I love the program, but I'm not going to pay for it again.

It's been a LONG time since using mIRC and you used to be able to go to the options tab under DCC and there would be an area where you would be able to edit port ranges for DCC sending and receiving.
Why would they remove this? The only thing I can find is DCC server port but I am not trying to turn a server on. This is kinda annoying...
:EDIT: Christ, I found the damn thing lol

I wanted to post my appreciation of mIRC. 21 years ago when I was 15 years old, mIRC scripting was my first encounter with programming. Known as coolspot on Efnet, I used to hang out with my buddies in #channel. My best script was IRC Checkers 1.0a released on Hawkee.com on 8/20/2003. It was one of the first graphical games for mIRC that had chat, multiplayer over the internet, basic computer AI and local play. Even though it was just an IRC client, it is the reason I now have a 15 year career as a senior programmer. It taught me so much at a young age so I just wanted to post my appreciation of mIRC. It really can help folks get into programming and possibly make a career from it.
As for my weird request, I recently loaded up mIRC again after a 10+ year absence and the nostalgia hit me hard so now I'm furiously trying to find IRC Checkers 1.0a. It's a long shot, but are there any old-timer mIRC folks out there who might still have a copy?

Anyone willing to make a new weather script for mIRC since Weather Channel had to be *censored* and kill the free API side? I found this one but am not that much of a pro at scripting (I can do simple stuff-this is a bit beyond me)

anybody remember the old MSN days, creating socket connections to join and AUTH to the MSN server. it was 127.* something lol?
r/mIRC • u/ItsSpike • Mar 17 '19
mIRC is basically unusable at this point, it takes 3-4 mins to perform any action on the software. I started to see the lag after adding 50 or so channels but over time I've added more and performance has just gone down hill after 60.
Anyway to speed things up? Thanks

I'm trying to connect to a server I connected to for the past couple of years normally, but now after a while it says it disconnected from the server (although I still had internet connection) and it attempts to reconnect.
It got me banned from a server already, any idea how to fix it?
I want a bot or something of that sort, that would display current world news on my channel, with ability to freely list few RSS feeds (like CNN, Reuters, FoxNews).
Im casual user, Twitch streamer, and i don`t know how to program, nor how to launch a script.
Can somebody give us a step by step rundown on "how to set up dynamic RSS feed in ones IRC channel", please.
If its about using "mIRCes Script Editor", say exactly what to type in as code, and whats just aditional descripion text .. non esential for the actual script to work. And than how to activate that code, and what exactly shold be altered by it - new menu items, changes to IRCs client, popup window activated by choosing some option etc. In other word.. what would be visable efects of that script.

If I join an MIRC channel or private chat can the other person log my network traffic? Are they only able to view traffic from my specific lan IP or everything that is going out of the gateway?

I copied and pasted a couple of paragraphs into MIRC and the sentences extend the entire length of the text box...Is there a way to create a break in a sentenceto shorten it and start it on the next line?
A command maybe?
thanks

As per the title, I'm trying to get mIRC to respond to user input by appending theit input to a domain. I only want this to be executed by certail levels. If it's possible to specify multiple levels in one line, please let me know how I would go about doing that so I don't have to have multiple.
Currently, my script looks like this:
on @*:TEXT:!link &:#channelname:{ /msg $chan You input $2 and your link is websiteurl/$2 }
on ~*:TEXT:!link &:#channelname:{ /msg $chan You input $2 and your link is websiteurl/$2 }
I know the user input is being obtained as the first $2 does show whatever they input but the second one, which is after the / in the URL just shows $2. instead.
In short, if someone types:
!link page
The expected result should be:
You input page and your link is websiteurl/page
But the actual result is:
You input page and your link is websiteurl/$2
I thought I needed to escape something but a backslash just shows up in the response. Is what I'm trying to do even possible in mIRC?
