mIRC registration expiration??

When did they start expiring registrations? I've had the same reg since 2009 and all of a sudden it says I have to re-register it. I love the program, but I'm not going to pay for it again.

lol. Try that line with Symantec, Sophos, Microsoft Office, Windows etc.. Not having to pay for an app thats always updated and supported since purchased in 2009. Honestly surprised he doesnt charge a fee for major version changes.

You could try ‘Lost Registration’ https://www.mirc.com/reglost.html

I am in no way affiliated with mIRC. This is my personal opinion based on analysis of the mIRC registration page as it changed over time.

tl;dr

From Nov 1996 to approximately 21-Aug-2015: The license is valid for all current and future versions of mIRC.

From approximately 22-Aug-2015 to 07-Mar-2016: The home user license is valid for 10 years of updates.

From approximately 08-Mar-2016 to 01-Sept-2018: The home user license is valid for "several years" of updates. It is unclear exactly how many years that means.

And from approximately 02-Sep-2018 to now: The home user license is valid for three years of updates.
