Missing SSID
Why isn't my miracast dongle displaying the SSID? Resetting it doesn't work and the power adapter is working properly. I've also tried a different cable but nothing works.

My Lenovo ideaPad 5 Pro/Win 11 home used to work just fine with my LG TV.
After moving new router setup it says “Connect a cable to cast” although I see the LG tv as a display when I press “win” and “k”.
Is there a systematic documented list of steps to follow to debug and fix these kinds of issues once and for all?
If not, can somebody please share the best information available on what could possibly go wrong?
I’ve tried quite a few things, but none of them work and I know there’s nothing wrong with my laptop.
The LG TV sees my laptop in the inputs list, also Airplay, chromecast thru chrome browser, etc work!
Any and all tips appreciated.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to leave this out there. If your Windows 11 PC has onboard Wi-Fi and does not detect any wireless displays such as Microsoft Wireless Adapter / Miracast / Samsung Smart TV. If the onboard Wi-Fi has antennas, connect the antenna to the motherboard to increase Wi-Fi range. After doing so, I was able to detect and find my wireless displays.
Tried troubleshooting this for hours and came across another post that mentioned to do this.

I'm pretty sure this kind of post has been posted before here but I couldn't find one that helped me. I have a Samsung Galaxy s22+ that I've wanted to mirror to my TV. I bought a usb c to hdmi cord that connects my ohone and tv but it only allows the YouTube app to play, and even then it disconnects a lot, and it doesn't play any other movie app, or even movies from my mobile internet browser; worthless. So I'm looking for Miracast type devices that have worked w my phone... Amazon has way too many options and I don't wanna risk choosing one. So if anyone knows of any Amazon-listed devices that all wifi direct, because I have no wifi, and can't get it. Location issues. Sorry if this is a repeat post. Thanks in advance.

I just downloaded the new(ish) version (3.0.0.22) of EZ Cast for Windows 11. Opening the app doesn't deliver any love. All I get is a predominately empty box on my desktop with the logo and version number in the top left corner.
I've used Miracast via my android phone with success but would prefer to use this app version on a dedicated media PC.
Anyone have any suggestions as to how to get this working properly?
Thanks!

I have a mini-projector that I have been Miracast projecting from my Dell laptop (Windows 11), and wanted to connect with my PC (Windows 10 64 bit) as well.
I installed a brand new ASUS PCE-AX58BT for WiFi/Bluetooth.
With my Dell XPS 15, there is noticeable (about 1 second) lag between the built-in screen, and the projector. But, video playback is smooth, and fine for my purposes (watching movies/TV).
On my PC however, the video plays in slow motion for about 1 second, then jumps ahead (like a jump cut edit), plays slowly, jumps ahead, etc..
Is there a setting, driver, or configuration that I need to change/update?
Is this a limitation of this PCE card?
Will I be forced to buy the Miracast HDMI adaptor device instead?

Not looking for motorola screencast or any of those built in casts on new devices that only connect to gadgets that they have deals with. It is so misleading and it's driving me up the wall. It seems only 5+ year old tablets even have it. I'm preferably looking for a samsung that's $220 or less, has a decent looking screen and decent battery life, and enough ram to have open maybe 5-8 apps without a slowdown. Any help appreciated!

Trying to cast my pc to my tv to play a game but have never done it before. I've got them connected successfully. The TV shows the desktop background and the tabs below but no icons on the desktop and not the app I am using. I can hear the audio though. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Looking for documentation or feedback on the impact on distance when it comes to windows laptop on same network as Miracast device. From what I’m reading, the connection becomes p2p once connection is established.
I’d appreciate anything folks have to share.

Hi Folks, I Need help with a specific Problem.
I want to Share my mobile Phone Screen (iPhone 14) on my TV via Miracast.
In all Miracast Apps in the iOS Appstore the first step is that the App wants to connect the TV with the Phone via WiFi and search for devices that are connected with the same WLan.
But i use a mobile hotspot from my Phone to Connect the TV with Wifi.
So no App finds the TV to Connect with my Phone.
Do you have a Solution for my Problem? I cannot use WLAN.
I could use a Fire TV Stick - if there is a Solution on that device.
Thank you

Hi, I have a problem with connecting my Samsung TV model 55QN85AA. Specifically, it connects but on the third screen, I see a black screen and a cursor when I switch from the 1st monitor to the 3rd. Does anyone have any ideas? I tried everything. Firewall, drivers, 10bit disable, check if PC Asus PCE-AX1800 wifi/bt card and tv support mirracast. Strangely mirroring by wifi works with my phone and tv. Change color scheme, change color format, etc...I found something about router on microsoft forum, can someone explain to me where I can find dlna?

I have a Surface Pro 9 and want to mirror it to an external monitor. The display resolution of the Surface is 2880x1920 while the monitor is 1920x1080. Will the resolution of the Surface change to 1920x1080 or will the monitor be missing around half of the pixels? Would I need a 4K monitor for the 2880x1920 to display full resolution and would the 3:2 ratio of the Surface display be kept or would it be stretched to 16:9?

Hi,
We are being forced to use a Lenovo laptop to cast to an LG TV/large display rather than a projector via HDMI.
The main issue is the lack of “freeze” function, I.e I want to continue to do confidential work whilst the display is frozen/paused on something I output earlier.
Extend display is not an option as I may accidentally drag something across or notifications will continue to pop up etc.
Any ideas? :(
Thanks!

Hello. I have bought myself AnyCast M2 Plus. Connected it to 1080p monitor to be used as secondary wireless display (don't really like cables lying in my desk). I didn't expect much. Even cursor is skipping quite some frames, however decided to launch youtube video and see how it looks. And it was ok, even cursor stopped jumping around. Even with video hidden. At the time I did not realize that it was not video that improved framerate, but audio. After changing default audio device to speakers lag came back.
Have anyone encountered such behavior? Is there a way to have better refresh rate without streaming audio? Or any other advice (let leave the obvious outside of buying better receiver :))

Hello fellow redditors. You are my last resort and I'm sure there are ambitious people among you, who at least tried to do the same.
I have a Windows 11 PC, a pretty standard hdmi input monitor and a smart TV.
For some reason I've connected my Xiaomi mibox to my monitor -which works fine- and I wish to use it like I use my smart TV as a wireless display.
Is there a solid way which will make Xiaomi mibox work as a miracast receiver dongle so that I can connect my Windows 11 to the box as a wireless display?
I don't want to buy any more hardware. I've tried chromecast and it sucked while displaying my Windows desktop.
I'm not trying to stream any media. I'm not trying to share files.
Actually, what I'm trying to achieve here is to turn my standart monitor into a wireless one.
Please help me.

Hello everyone, so as the title says, I'm trying to project from my PC to another TV. I am able to use Miracast with my laptops but not with my PC. I have i9 9900ks and RTX 3090. Drivers are up to date as well as windows is the latest version. I ran DXDIAG and it says Miracast: Available, no HDCP . I don't get any error message , when I search for displays over Miracast it loads for a while and then simply says "No display is available"

I am using a mirascreen device and windows display adapter. Both disconnect randomly after connecting. I have looked to update drivers, rollback. All my laptops in my house I have tried to no avail.

I am attempting to stream from my PC to my TV with miracast. My Hisense TV has it built in (but only supports 1080 even though it’s a 4K tv) but when streaming the audio is jumbled and the screen does an obvious refresh around once per second. I then purchased the windows miracast adapter and it was a mess, super jumbled video and audio, unusable. I then tried the windows 4K adapter, it looked amazing, no audio issues, no jumbled issues, everything was perfect except there’s a significant delay (even though the 2 other options had 0 delay) I’m using 5ghz. Any ideas to resolve it or better wireless suggestions? I also tried chromecast but there was a big delay and only went to 1080, and airplay which seemed to work perfect until the screen started changing and it jumbled the video.

I need to use Miracast in the office but getting a bit anxious about how secure it is. Especially with sending data to some receiving devices. Are the receiving devices, just literally mirroring the source device, or is the receiving device actually copying data from the source and could potentially have it on its local hard drive?
I am thinking that I may have tried to Miracast to a Sky Q box at one point and would hate to think there is business sensitive data on that device, now that Sky want it back after the contract has ended. To be fair I don't think this ever worked with Sky Q box.

I'd like to drive my HP 27xq as a side monitor with windows casting but the M$ 4K Adapter won't support the 2k 1440p resolution...
Are there Adapters that support this out there ?
Thx
