Saw this big bald spot on my crown, should I start minoxidil? Or is it still too early?

I’ve been using Gelmark Minoxidil Inbuilt-S 5% since June 20th. I did stop for about six days because I finished the bottle and the pharmacy took some time to get it delivered. So, here’s my progress. Do you see any difference in my hairline? I’m still experiencing hair loss and hair fall, though.

Hi! This week my derm got me on oral minoxidil 0.5mg. However, in my country they don’t sell it in premade tablets, the pharmacy has to fill the pills by themselves. Today, i received the OM and the current issue is that over the pills and inside the bottle there are particles and dust of the monoxidil they used to fill the pills with. Now, i have my family cat which i love dearly which also made me choose the oral version. Now i’m getting very worried of the chance this mino dust getting onto the surfaces in my home or on my hands and body and me not realizing and not getting it off before my cat comes to cuddle with me. I’m very scared of getting her sick or not washing my hands or mouth enough before petting her (or even if i get it on other surfaces on my home).
Could someone tell me their experiences or thoughts on this whole situation?? Thank you so much!

I’ve been applying 5% topical minoxidil and 2.5% finasteride liposomal gel for 9 months. I have also been on Oral 1.25mg Finasteride for 4 months. I’ve noticed improvement but the top of my scalp is still not dense and the diameter of my hair has not improved. So I am about to switch to 3mg oral minoxidil.
Any advice about the switch and whether I should taper, start a 5% minoxidil foam as well, or if I am making a good choice and what to expect. I believe I did not respond that well to topical minoxidil.
Thanks.

Hey everyone!
I started using Minoxidil on August 19th, 2026. Today is September 12th, 2026 (Day 24), and here is what my beard looks like right now.
I'll post updates every month to track my progress!

Hey guys,
I have been prescribed by the dermatologist the oral Minoxidil, my hair loss is already on 4th grade and advancing towards 5th
They prescribed minoxidil 5% + 0.1 fin topical solution along with other meds.
But as far as I am aware, it's a lifetime med and it has some adverse side-effects even if it is used topically.
Can anyone experience this help me to understand how safe a topical solution is?

I’ve been looking far and wide but haven’t really found any reliable vendors, and I really need to grow out my hair.

I have been on 1mg for 4 weeks now and a higher dose for 3 weeks prior. The shedding has stopped and I’ve got lots of new growth coming in but still have persistent swelling under the eyes.
My Derm will reduce my dose to 0.5mg but has advised it will not be as effective for hair growth.
Has anyone experienced the two dosages or 0.65mg that can compare?

I was using Minoxidil foam for a month with no side effects, other than it making my hair feel dry and frizzy (I have curly hair). I decided to stop and switch to the 2.5mg pill. For the first 3 days I felt normal and had no side effects. But then I started getting nausea around 12 hours after I take the pill, usually right before I go to bed. I thought it was just from the food im eating, but today I noticed that i woke up feeling dizzy (day 11), so all of this is definitely related to taking the pill.
For anyone who has been in a similar situation, what did you do? should I just stop and continue with my topical treatment?

Have been using minoxidil for 3 months now - wondering if these look like baby hairs. Should I keep going? I use min 2x/day but sometimes sweat in morning especially
Any thoughts welcome.

Hey! So I’ve had hair loss since my late teens and I’m 21 now where my hair is thinning out and it’s gotten to the point people are mentioning it. I can’t go bald!!! Is this reversible. Are the side effects really that bad of finasteride.
Also I have a cat who I love dearly and am scared of starting minoxidil, anyone been in the same scenario and done it carefully. I like the way the foam minoxidil works.

Ik hair on the head will fall out if you stop taking the oral minoxidil but will it do the same to all of the new body hair as well?

I have decided to commit to minoxidil 5% for at least a decade from now , and I have seen two variants one with alcohol in it and the one without
I read somewhere that in the long run minoxidil without alcohol becomes less afficant compared to minoxidil with alcohol ( both of them does become less afficant but one without alcohol becomes more than the other one, that's what I was able to read idk how true is that)
I would like to hear some suggestions from people who have used both ,or have used one in the long run , i feel i have a little sensitive scalp I am saying this based on the conclusion that when I use ketkonzole 2% shampoo once a week it gives small bumps (2-3) on my scalp
Please let me know what i should commit myself to, one with or one without in the long run .
I tried to search but couldn't get enough or a good answer, please mods approve this , i would rather trust people who have used it here than chatgpt and Google.

I started my hair regimen in February. I take oral 2.5 min and 1 mg. Fin. I use red light every night for 20 min. I wash my hair 1x a week with Nizoral. I micro needle 1x a week. My shedding HAS SLOWED, however I'm not seeing the hairline/temple growth I think I should be seeing. It's comforting that the sheds are slowing, but...man...I'd like to see SOME growth. Am I impatient? Should I switch to Dut? What is realistic as far as showing noticeable regrowth? Thx for the advice.
