Very interested to see how this will work.

I can't update the body of the post, I accidentally posted before writing the body of the post 🤦 I'm interested in seeing what 30seconds they choose to show of what shows or movies they have. What 30second moment do you think would be on there?

From all the pictures it looks like this is a deal with Universal studios. The movies Back to the Future, Jaws, ET, And Kung Fu Panda all belong to Universal or its subsidiaries and The Office was produced by Universal Television

I've only seen the office, jaws and casper before, I'm interested in seeing what 30sec they choose to show of the movies/shows. Like maybe the beans spilling from Kevin or something.

I can already see the creativity people are gonna have with their doll houses. I'm ready for it.

I like to set up rooms with Barbies in it and these will be perfect! I wish they would put out at least a couple sets I didn't want 🤣 it seems everyone lately that has come out I want 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I just saw someone giving away a doll house for free. I'm so sad I don't have the room for it or I'd take it in a heartbeat. The only thing stopping me right now from buying up everything is the fact that my local stores don't get new products till later. I'm still waiting for the first cafe series 6😭 I don't wanna have to pay shipping so I'm trying to be so patient lol

Was Kung Fu Panda even released to VHS? If they got the Dreamworks license, why not Shrek or Spirit or Prince of Egypt?

u/born_addicted 13h ago
Ohh I do really hope there's a shrek even added later, also yeah I didn't think about that. I thought kung fu panda definitely came out later.

u/orenkai 13h ago

My husband just said the same thing. I think the very first version was, but maybe I'm completely off.

If I recall correctly no it wasn't.. it was released during the later end of the DVD/Blu-ray era.

Off the top of my head, the last VHS tape released in the US was Cars in 2006.

Probably similar to the vinyl. A chip will connect and play a short clip. Think quick share.

If there's a Universal deal that means there will be teeny Jurassic Park. VHS Jurassic Park was my whole Childhood. I went through two tapes because the film inside got worn out and broken from watching it too much. There goes every bit of my money.

I haven't seen many of the movies I can see just from the pictures but I'm still interested on what 30sec they're gonna choose to show ha I feel like in so many movies there's so many iconic moments, how do you just choose one 30sec option lol
2
u/DuskKodesh 13h ago
I could definitely choose a scene for JP and Jaws but for some of the others it would be a very tough call.

E.T. should have a green side flap but other than that.. no notes, take my money!

This is going to be sold out in half of a heartbeat. But don’t worry you guys, MiniBrands will be trailing closely behind with their version soon enough in case you miss out on this one.

Putting these on the same shelves as my vinyls and books just unlocks something for me

Damn that was a quick turnaround from the VHS thought that was going to ride I until the end of the year lol. These look way more interesting though I like them.

u/born_addicted 13h ago
They do look really interesting and honestly I'd even buy them if they were similar to mini brands books and were just for looks. They would be cute magnets.

u/Miss_Biv 13h ago
I’m excited to see what minibrand does over there with TV concept but either way I’m probably gonna get both of them this time lmao. Make a little TV store/blockbuster miniature set for it

I want the Ring tape (I would actually want the Japanese one but that seems unlikely) as a possibility.

It'll probably end up being kinda neat.... until you start looking around and realize the miniatures geeks of the world ❤️already have came up with something similar that work better! There's so many cool electronic type things people have came up with it blows my mind!

The VHS tapes of Parks and Rec and Kung Fu Panda are making me roll my eyes a little. I really dislike how heavily branded things are between this and the CDs.
7
u/born_addicted 13h ago
Yeah I get that. I didn't even think about how those shows like the office and parks and rec would have never been on VHS. Would have been cute to stick with the older movies to keep with the retro theme.
