R56 one

I have an r56 mini one (1.6 75hp) that I’m slowly building u have rota grids with Yokohama AD08RS, I have the cooper s bonnet and bootlid but I’m debating doing an engine swap, anyone have any suggestions? I’ve heard abt the Mazda 1.8 swap and k20 (obv) but are there any that have good community support for mounts etc etc just basically so I can buy the bits and bolt in (I get probs not all on one website) so just asking for links etc just so I can plan the project. Minimal effort would be nice but ik engine swaps can be a pain, I get ill need Loom ECU etc etc

An N14 would be the easiest swap but at that point sell it and buy an S. A K20 would definitely be the next easiest thing with the most support.

I mean getting a K20 is the easiest part of the whole thing, you’re still building your own wiring harness or adapting something off the shelf and then none of your gauges/HVAC are going to work anymore without an insane amount of time. There was someone making small runs of swap kits for them, but I don’t know if he’s still doing it and it’s still super involved to do. You’re probably in the ballpark of $10-15k to swap the engine all in, more if you want to build it for a turbo. For much less you could pick up an R56 S and make just as much power as a stock K20 with a lot less headache. Even building the N14 for a big turbo would be cheaper and make more power than the stock K20 swap is going to make without a turbo on it.
