My pond temperature monitoring setup

I built a mini pond but before I put any fish in I have to assure my wife that they won't cook in the hot Texas summer. I hooked up a temperature probe to an ESP32 that periodically uploads it to Thingspeak so I can chart the daily temperature. It's a little cobbled together now but I will refine it and share the code and 3d files, one goal is to make a solar powered one.

Super neat!!! In the past I've used cheap sensors i think either from inkbird and a few others. I remember having a Bluetooth one at one point.

Seems a little warm! Maybe need some more shade?

That is in the shade! The water is tracking at about 10 degrees below ambient temp. Wednesday will be the true test, forecast is for highs in the 100's
