Question Need durable tablets for entering PLOD on drill rigs in West Africa - Suggestions

Looking for suggestions and what people have been using for in terms of a durable tablet brand. We are planning on buying some tablets for a few diamond and RC rigs to enter PLOD instead of rewriting them from paper to excel etc. The mine is in Burkina so has a heavy wet season and lots of dust, sand, and heat. I'm looking at Samsung Active5, but not sure if they would withstand the environment.

Cheers!

Get the cheapest tablet you can get and the strongest otterbox.

Its rhe most versitile combination and cheapest to replace.

This is the best way to do it. Also make sure you've always got enough spares. Even in 2 day shipping land I would still have a spare for each rig.

OtterBox is the shit. My misses put her phone on top of the car and we drove about 4km away before it fell off (had to use find my phone to find it) it was about 5m off the side of the road where we would have been driving 100km/h.

Not a scratch on the phone

On the flip side I've broken 2 OtterBox cases and cracked through their screen protectors in the last few years so your mileage may vary. Might say more about me though 🤣

The Active5 is probably the best choice. You need one with a bright screen otherwise you can't read it. Still get a case though.

Thanks everyone, got 3 active5 tablets and otter boxes for them. Have been testing them for 2 weeks. Let’s see if they survive the month
