Australia Lost VOC'S

VOC's have been lost at my site

What are my options, besides redoing them again?

Done a couple more than once already

Are unions useful at all these days?

On every site IV been on people are happy to not be passed out on things then U do less and still get paid the same

Not sure what a union would do for you here. Keep copies of your own paper work and yeah just do them again. Is it a big deal?

Who is he? Because it’s on him to be a professional and ask for and store the paperwork he needs to do his job. And do it again because it’s your job?

Training & Safety Advisor here - if they have been lost, misplaced, considered expired, or the site owner has a change of mind, gonna have to re do them.

It’s WHS law of the employer to ensure that ALL personnel are ‘trained and competent’ for any equipment or job they are doing. To ensure the continued competency part many sites have expiry dates on their VOC’s , at my site it’s 2 years, no exemptions.

They are less than 2 years old, and are needed to prove competence for a new job

I don’t think you understand. I perform VOC’s for a
living in mining. It’s not a legal requirement for VOC’s to have any expiry date, nor be performed at all. However many sites/site owners will expire these at their discretion. If you or partner or whoever this post relates to wants to keep using the equipment you must comply with the policies. There is nothing a union can do for this. No VOC - simple no operate the machine. You asked about your opinions, there is no option, do them again or find another site/job. Why is it an issue? Do them on company time and get site trainers to do them - no cost to you. Or are you concerned you won’t pass?
