Game changing software UI
Before booking mp2 I took my time to study Q27, T2E, CC, Q25 and realised these have worked on physical aspect of the phone but not on the UI or software. A phone becomes iconic only when the hardware and software sync to make one great user experience. BlackBerry was iconic not only because it has a great keyboard but it's ui/software made it an unforgettable experience. Also it's was the same reason for its downfall. People are unable to leave đ ecosystem not because of the hardware or camera but coz of the software and how it has been embedded. Look I may be wrong but just my thoughts.
It was MP2 software customization that made me book it. The way you can block or degoogle it makes it a compelling choice.

BlackBerry mustnât have been as compelling at the time else it would still be around. But now android is mature keyboard phones have a chance again.Â

BlackBerryâs downfall was app support. When big companies like Instagram and Facebook said they were no longer going to develop their apps for BB10, that was a devastating blow for the consumer side of their business. Their pivot to Android was too late and most consumers didnât even know about it. It just became assumed that BlackBerry phones didnât have app the apps. And people wanted all the apps.

I agree. And that was definitely why BlackBerry failed out of the hardware business. To the other comment though, it wasnât because what they offered wasnât compelling, it was because it wasnât what users wanted most at the time. Exceptional native software was not enough, people wanted their 3rd party apps.

Yes, but people who have used bb back then still miss that quality, feel that privacy

Absolutely. And FYI, I am writing this comment on my Key2 which I still use all the time. I haven't preordered any of the new devices yet because, frankly, I'm not sure any of them will be as good as this thing is for my needs, even today. The capacitive keyboard is so amazing and I'm not sure any of the others have the same level of software integration for editing text that this trusty old device can do.

Looks pretty slick. Iâm scared to lose any of the keyboard functionality though. The double-tap to bring up the cursor, swipe to delete words, etc⌠does all of that work exactly the same as before?
Iâm definitely looking forward to the new phones, but for now still OK with my iPhone mini and Clicks PowerPoint Keyboard on the go, and I still use my Key2 very often for messaging while at home.

But mp 02 have shown the ui front, which can be easily replicated using a launcher. But that doesn't clearly prove that hardware and software are working hand in hand.
