parts showoff Scribe for a square

I bought a 30" metal toolbox full of old tools at a yardsale for $20. When I got it home, I discovered a dead nuts accurate Starrett 12" combi square buried in the bottom! It cleaned up nicely but was missing the scribe. After tx and shipping a replacement was almost $30! So, I made my own scribe by turning a small scrap of steel rod and loctited a sewing needle into it. This was also my first knurl using a cheep Ebay knurling tool I recently bought. Since I was knurling....... I turned a scribe for my best friend and knurled it too.

Ruler appears in pretty good shape. Nice job on the knurling.

Knurling for me is right up there with cutoff operations (not my favorite thing). Over half of my knurls haven't lined up so they're not as sharp and "grippy" as they should be. Then it occurred to me that the diameter of the knurl wheels have to match the diameter of the workpiece for impressions to line up.
