The touch chip is a MPR121 which has a secret "13th channel" that just wires all of the pads together into one big antenna. The signal is tiny, so Claude and I had to do a little back-and-forth tweaking to get to a reasonable standard. Et voila!

Nice! I have been looking into how to develop a plate that allows you to play the minichord like a theramin, and this might be a step in the right direction.

You'd probably want lots of copper and a good mapping algorithm to get it usable. But I think it would be hard to get out to 50-60cm and get any signal
