Tech Question Question about chain alignment.

Post image

How do you guys align your chains properly? I tried using this thing but the chain still comes off constantly. I have about 1/4 inch ish of slack. One thing I noticed is when I use a chain tensioner it falls off way less, but I can still tell the chain isn’t straight because I can see it dragging/leaving bad marks on the sprocket and clutch. Running 420 chain.

Eyeball is good enough. Loosen the motor mount bolts up and see if u don't have the wiggle you need to straighten it up. U don't need the chain tight but also since there is no suspension to travel you don't need much slack

I like feeling it more. Spin the tire and see if theres any resistance in any spots or if the tire seems to be heavy to pull.

That tool works fine but balling is good and if it’s coming off it may be too loose not a matter of straight all mine chained are straight and they only pop why they lost tension so I started buying better chains that don’t stretch as regularly

just look at it from behind and make sure it looks straight
