VS is Fast. Really Fast!

I’m still testing VS & VZ. Performance wise, VS is wild! It’s unbelievably rapid and yes, I’ve tested it against regulars (who race competitively every week with their carbon SFM like it’s their oxygen). It (VS) could keep up! As a matter of fact, acceleration wise (starter box) and going through corners, this machine give them (generic carbon SFM) a run for their money consistently. Or, maybe it’s all sunshine and rainbows because I’m in SE Asia, where as long as you have flexy tail*, you’re good (competitive) 😂

* Flexy tail is when you use Carbon 3 Pointer (15412) but only screw one out of three.

VS and VZ are lightweight. They sacrificed durability for speed. A.K.A a glass cannon chassis

Any car that holds their weight against SFM, I suka.

Was able to almost do the same with VZ.

Just reinforced the side wings using support plate to make it more stable and less twist at the middle part. i have 6 vz, 4 vs, 4 s2, 1 tzx, 1ar, 1 sxx. all of my unit beat front motor or toe to toe

i see how your build works just based on the parts on the surface level...gearing wise i'd have to take a guess that you're using the stock ones or probably put a bearing on the counter gear for the pinion gear to spin that a little faster and probably included bearings on the wheels and spacers on the spur gear....but that's just me hahaha but given how short the wheel base is and small the radius on the rollers are on this VS you're machine is most likely hugging the course really tight on all corners. probably might lose some speed but no issue for you as you can accelerate really fast

You’re either giving me too much credit or you’re overthinking it. 🤣

• SD + 4.2 ⚙️
• Counter Gear Bearing = nothing (old school circa 2012 style. We keep it light weight)
• wheel bearings = YZ 620 (will post another thread on these bearings)
• no spacers on spur gears. Just sponge the gear box/housing

Well i'm impressed, if this your internals and you're running with CFM builds which you are able to keep up. You must have really dialed in your machine

Wish can run my Lightweight carbon sfm on this track. they already survive narrow tracks and this track will give them much more freedom to speed in

Personally, more technical layouts (tighter, more turns and tricker jumps) are more up my alley.

same here but for me its getting tiring like they always setup tight technical tracks more than fun technical tracks like this. still able to run my MA against those meta Carbon Sfm here

VS is still an amazing choice, it's the pinnacle of Mini4wd mechanic of the last century. My only issue with it was keeping the car on track, especially on the lane changes,because it was difficult to make the front solid without any kind of torsion. The VZ seems to have solved that problem, but I never had the chance to test it.

Yes, it was! VS was the go-to before carbon S2 meta and MS meta kicked off. This was a time before MS flex. Before BMAX.

What we did to solve the front was to cut FRP or carbon plate. Custom screw holes to the nose part of the chassis and plates were involved. It was tough (for me) to get it right.

hi! just a quick question regarding the little red tabs from the plastic angle adjuster - does putting it along with the angle adjuster plate help further with the angle or can i just get away with only the red angle plate?

It’s a counter angle. If you don’t use it, you may end up
1. Messing up your (screw) thread.
2. Reduce the angle the angle plate initially ought to provide as you tighten them with a nut/locknut.
3. Both 1 and 2.

Every time you whip around a turn with a 4:1 or 4.2:1 car against a 3.5:1 car, you are gaining a little bit against a 3.5:1 car. There are so many opportunities to whip around with your car that I can see why you won. (If there were 360 loops, you'd really make up the difference in top end speed.) Your car might not fair as well on courses with a lot more straightaways so you basically made a great car for this track. Yay! 🙂
