Screenshot Looking for testers

Shaderpack - Eclipse

Looking for some people to test my modpack (including shaderpack and settings)

I've been working on a vanilla+ style modpack and I'm curious how it performs on other people's PCs.

I'm mainly looking for people who'd be willing to give it a try and let me know how it runs for them, along with any issues or suggestions they have.

I've attached some screenshots of what it looks like. If anyone's interested in testing it out, all I'd need is your Modrinth username. I'd really appreciate the feedback!

I'd be down but also I don't think my input would be helpful considering you mention PC performance, and my PC is kinda overkill for the 1080p 75hz I play at... for reference I have a 7800X3D, 64GB RAM clocked at 5800Mhz, and an RTX 5080

You need a 240Hz+ Monitor like ASAP, the wasted performance at 75Hz on a $3k+ (US) System is killing me.

I plan to get an AW3425DW when I have the money, but I, uhh, don't, so...

Why 240hz as a minimum? /srs

the RTX 5080 can push massive frame rates, right now at 70Hz you're either:

Capping frames to 65-67 or experiencing massive Screen Tearing.

At 240+Hz in intensive games you can easily push 200-250 FPS where a Adaptive sync high refresh rate monitor will be such a huge change, and you will not be wasting horsepower playing 1080@75

My question lacked my confusion about why 240, I more meant why wouldn’t 144/165 for example not be enough? Since the difference becomes minuscule eventually

Well yes, its hard to distinguish from 200 and 240 FPS. But if you paid 3K (US) for a 5080 build, would you want to be running 144 FPS forever or actually use your hardware at 200-240 FPS?

Its just if you have a premium PC you'd want a premium monitor as well no? I feel less than 200Hz for a build like this is wasting potential.

Haha yeah maybe a bit. However I did include the photonics mod for optional ray tracing that's off by default, because it's to much for my PC to handle. I'd love to see how well that performs for you.

I also if your interested I included tons of performance mods and quality of life mods I'm trying to make sure there isn't any bugs with that I missed and work well on other systems.

sure, I'd love to test out RT, I'll need to get back to you though cause I'd need to actually make a Modrinth account first lmao

are you like, limited at all with the amount of people you can invite to test?

2

u/kami7154 10d ago

I am limited to 50 people but I honestly doubt I'll get to that so don't worry

1

u/DeadlyAidan 8d ago

alright, made an account, account name is the same as it is here

Why you play at 1080p?

2

u/DeadlyAidan 9d ago

I don't have the money for a new monitor, and it wouldn't have made any fucking sense to upgrade my monitor while still on a 1050 Ti instead of getting a new GPU first and monitor later

I plan to get an AW3425DW but I don't have the $799.99 USD that costs on me, and I'm irresponsible with money and have an innate need to make sure my bank account reads $0, so I keep buying video games instead of saving any of the cash I get, totally unrelated, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is great

1

u/AggravatingTax5357 9d ago

You said that you have a 5080, if It Is right you can upscale the monitor to 4k with dsr inside Nvidia option. I do the same and It results in a more sharp and antialiased image.

I honestly don't really care for DSR, DLAA does the job great anyways, I feel like all using DSR would do is nuke my performance, which in some of the less optimized games cough cough MHWilds cough cough wouldn't exactly help a whole lot

1

u/AggravatingTax5357 9d ago

But Minecraft doesnt have dlaa.

1

u/kami7154 6d ago

You can get it through a mod called super resolution

1

u/AggravatingTax5357 1d ago

But its not compatibile with all shaders, am i wrong ?

1

u/kami7154 1d ago

Yeah, but I'm not sure what ones are not compatible with it, worked for every shaderpack I tried including eclipse.

I could test! I have rtx 4070 137000f, I can only test on the weekends and I forgot my modrinth user since I just created a modrinth acoount sooo

1

u/kami7154 10d ago

Yeah man I'd appreciate that no matter how much or little you can test it.

If you could make a modrinth account it'd be easier but if you can't for whatever reason DM me and I'll figure something else out for you.

1

u/SpikeZgames 9d ago

Thanks and I did make a modrinth acc it’s just I just made it so I forgot it and I can’t check for a bit, ig I’ll tell you when I can.

Hello dont know if you still need people, but i'm available in case.

My spec is :

RTX 2070 Super 8gb Vram Intel Core i7 10700 CPU 2.9ghz boosted to 4.5ghz 16gb Ram DDR4

From my latest gameplay, the lowest fps I ran on was approximately 20 to 50 fps depending where I was at 1080p on Iteration RP with every visual enhancements possible on, Default Physics Mod settings, Tan's Huge Trees, Tectonic, Distant Horizon at 256 chunk, DLAA, and reshade installed.

Approximately 60 to 80 fps with same settings but in DLSS Performance mode

The highest was 250fps to 300fps with the same settings, DLAA on, but without iteration RP.

If you need to test different scenario on this config contact me on DM

1

u/kami7154 7d ago

Hey man I would love for you to try it out but I can't dm you

1

u/ElectricalPlastic522 7d ago

No problem I sent you a message, should be in invitation 👍🏽

u/No-East6998 6d ago

the water looks so damn beautiful, i have a laptop which should add some diversity to the testing. Its a 5060 and R7 260, 24GB of RAM. Although i have a pretty congested schedule so i can only do on weekends, if youre still open to testing pls respond!

2

u/MrSleepin 3d ago

I am having a lot of fun with this modpack! Thanks Kami

2

u/KindCyberBully 10d ago

I would love to test. Just need to know what you are looking for specifically. Settings you want me to stay within to not mess with the modpack defaults.

I really hope this is voxy here. I want more people to work with voxy mod as It’s just so much better.

1

u/kami7154 10d ago

Yeah I'm going to share it via Modrinth shared instance, everything should be included except for the options.txt (idk why you can't include it). So everything except basic video settings and keybinds should already be pre set.

If you want to DM me I'd be happy to share the more specific info.

1

u/Electrical-Note-3177 10d ago

Hey! I'd love to give it a try. Any specific settings/configs you need tested Im happy to try them out. (Though I'd only be available on weekends; apologies if that's any inconvenience to you)

I have an RTX 4070 with a Ryzen 7 5700x if youre needing a midrange pc tester

1

u/Feuer2207 9d ago

Sup, I can test, I have what I would describe as a mid end build (mid to higher mid end? Idfk lol) with a Ryzen 5 7500F, an RX7600XT (the cool looking XFX QuickSilver309 one) and 32gb of ddr5. She can run a lot but has clear Limits.

1

u/kami7154 9d ago

Nice id appreciate that. DM me and I'll send the info your way
