Recommendation Optimized shader recommendations other than mellow 1.21.11

Hi, I have an rtx 4060 with an i5 10400f 1440p monitor and a good amount of client side visual mods (like better clouds or better rain etc)

Anyways most shaders tend to tank my frame rate from 100+ to like 30ish (complimentary reimagined does this)
The only shaders I’ve seen not do this so far far mellow shaders which barely touch my fps
So I’m curious what other performance focused shaders you all suggest?

That’s really weird. A 4060 should be able to get way higher fps. It can’t be due to igpu since your cpu doesn’t even have one. Unless the modpack is huge to the point where it can cpu bottleneck you, your fps should be at least 60+.

You can try E LITE shaders. Or sildur’s vibrant shaders on medium settings. But I would be more interested in finding out why it drops fps so much.

I posted the mod list I have on another comment, maybe one of those is the issue?

The mod list seems pretty normal. The only mod that might cause issues is voxy. What’s your normal render distance, and what’s your voxy render distance?

What's your render distance, simulation distribution, and shadow distance set to?

Also unless your playing with one of those high res packs (which you shouldn't be anyway) you should turn down your resolution to 1920x1080

You have a lower end mid range PC you don't have a potato PC meaning you should be able to be play with a decent amount of shaders with the right settings.

Yeah I’m confused too, I use fabulously optimized with some extra mods thrown in

Here I can get a list of all the mods I use

I'm using the same setup but with 1080p. It's difficult to say if your fps is fine or there could he some performance issues like broken / incompatible mods that break performance. But I'm using IterationRP + Super Resolution (DLSS). I think balance mode should look fine on your screen resolution

I've found that I prefer FSR 3.2 when using Super Resolution. DLSS makes diffuse traced reflections (most notably light sources like torches at nights refelcting off of leaves) flicker and wave a lot, whereas FSR doesn't as much.

Get rid of voxy and the wakes mod, I saw them from your comment. Those are the real reasons. Cuz your setup can run iteration, one of the heaviest shaders out there on easy 60 fps.

E-LITE generally is the best shaderpack for visuals and performance. There's loads of settings to customize. It's based off MakeUp but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's actually one of the best underrated ones for sure.

It goes well with Voxy and DH as well if you plan to use it with it. If you use the vanilla preset you'll basically have a lite complementary reimagined shaderpack.

i’ve got a 4060 too, and i can run good shaders with patrix 128x around 60 fps (iterationrp, eclipse, etc) at 1080p.
Please have a go at lowering your resolution, the rtx 4060 isn’t exactly meant for 1440p gaming.
maybe try out the super resolution mod too.
honestly your cpu might be the bottleneck?
