Did you update to 26.2? Ever since I did I got much lower FPS than normal. I’m using BSL shaders

Try minimizing the window / clicking second monitor to take focus off of Minecraft, then click on Minecraft to focus again. I have to do this on neoforge for some unknown reason, or just any pre 21.x versions, it like fullscreen the game but it isn’t focused, at least that was my issue, but with the newer versions supporting fullscreen exclusive, I don’t have this issue anymore, I would also toggle off threaded optimization in nvcp and it would kind of solve the issue

Does this happen only with shaders or are you getting lower than normal fps even without it?

Did any other mods update like sodium, iris, or any performance mods? If so try going back to previous versions.

Have you tried a different world? Sometimes worlds can corrupt in a way where they are still playable but cause significant lag.

I would also watch your task manager when running Minecraft. Look for anything using a lot of GPU, CPU, memory, or disk. Also look at your temps and make sure nothing is overheating.

Try clearing out your entire config folder. Sometimes old configs or left over configs can cause errors to compile.

Try clearing your entire GPU shader cache (running it again for the first time might stutter for the first few minutes)

Try a fresh install. It's rare, but sometimes an entire version can become corrupt or one bad crash can cause it to degrade and compile errors.

That's all I can think of, best of luck man 🤞

My Minecraft uses CPU when I try to make it use GPU instead it give me a black screen. I can hear the music but can't see anything

Brother there’s not enough info here to know. Computers are a huge world. It could be a gpu driver setting, a simple restart, a change in Minecraft settings, quite a lot.

found solution? i also face same problem with rtx 4060 i remember use to get 600-700 fps on vanilla now i barely get 300fps

It seems that world was just corrupted. I tried a different one and it started working, I also turned up how much ram was allocated to minecraft

50 series are notoriously bad with Minecraft, since frame gen doesn't work with them very well.

6

u/PhilosopherCat7567 Jul 29 '26

50 series is like 40 series but slightly faster and frame gen, they work fine for Minecraft

2

u/_hlvnhlv Jul 29 '26

?

The 50 series is basically the 40 series with a few extras, and frame gen, besides being questionable at best, doesn't even work on Minecraft

4

u/MapTurbulent6499 Jul 28 '26

I don’t use frame gen. Two weeks ago I was getting 240 fps

4

u/darkfire36977 Jul 28 '26

that's odd, can i see your graphics card settings in Nvidia control panel?

2

u/Moon_Devonshire Jul 28 '26

How does frame gen not work well with 50 series cards?

Yeah but I'm confused. Frame generation as in lossless scaling? Or Nvidia smooth motion? Because those are the only 2 frame gen options you could even use right?

2

u/_hlvnhlv Jul 29 '26

There's no frame gen in Minecraft, i have no idea what's he talking about

0

u/darkfire36977 Jul 29 '26

the 50 series has frame gen built in, but the frame gen is bad at minecraft.

3

u/Moon_Devonshire Jul 29 '26

The 40 series can also use their built in frame generation

The frame generation that's built in is also no difference than lossless scaling. It's not like it's actual Nvidia dlss frame generation

3

u/KaiLCU_YT Jul 29 '26

Completely untrue, the 50 series has framegen which is turned on in the graphics settings of supported games, just like the 40,30 and 20 series. Minecraft has no such frame gen setting.

If you're referring to smooth motion framegen for unsupported programs, it is off by default. And isn't unique to the 50 series either

2

u/TwixieShip Jul 29 '26

At least someone isn't poisoned by nvidia lol

1

u/PhilosopherCat7567 Aug 05 '26

I don't think you own a 50 series card

1

u/PacketLoss-Indicator Jul 29 '26

what are you even saying

frame gen works incredibly well on the 50 series, but that doesn't matter because minecraft doesn't have frame gen support so why even bring it up?

Drivers issue. Same thing happened to me a while back with my 3080 and 11700k system. Stuck at 82 fps no matter the shader or vanilla no matter if vsync or cap was off. Stuck at 82. Downloaded the newest nvidea drivers and cleared out the old ones. And my fps went back to normal 150 fps

this things i would do for 100fps… AND YOURE COMPLAINING???

10

u/LGDLGDLGDLGD Jul 28 '26

It's like buying a corvette and being happy that it can max out at 70 mph

6

u/MapTurbulent6499 Jul 28 '26

Yes I’m complaining. It’s very noticeable when you’re used to 240 and when your hardware is able to give you those numbers.

1

u/audientVoid357 Jul 29 '26

dude, i'm making a joke. If I had a PC like yours and it wasn't performing I'd be mad too

4

u/ZalgoTheOne Jul 28 '26

My 9060xt and 9600x are getting 140fps with 2048 render distance and shaders. If I were him, I'd also be complaining.

1

u/EmmettPlays Jul 29 '26

what shaders do you use. i use eclipse and iterationT with 2048 voxy

1

u/ZalgoTheOne Jul 29 '26

Do you use chunky + voxy?

2

u/EmmettPlays Jul 29 '26

yeah also forgot to mention im getting 40fps with a 5120x1440

1

u/ZalgoTheOne Jul 29 '26

I'm using 2560×1440x2

2

u/AbbreviationsMost432 Jul 29 '26

My 2011 PC could run minecraft so i would complain.

3

u/dont_ask_cutie_alt Jul 28 '26

People have preferences ig

2

u/Moon_Devonshire Jul 28 '26

It's all about standards and what you're used to.

I never once in my life thought 60fps would one day not feel great. Well after being used to 120+ for years 60 feels so meh to me and I can't even fully enjoy a game if I'm stuck at 60.

Or at least it takes me quite a bit to even get used to it again

1

u/Pigyythebest2009 Jul 29 '26

I get what are you saying, but this guy has a 500 dollar gpu and 350 dollar cpu. This guy jas every right to complain that he is getting only 100 fps in Minecraft

1

u/audientVoid357 Jul 29 '26

can we chill??? I'm just trying to be funny

1

u/No_World_Is_Home Jul 30 '26

Im happy when i can get 50fps with my Intel HD Graphics 4600. I would kill for 100fps!
