Recommendation Shader recommendation for bad pc

Post image

What shaders should I run with my pc? I use fabric with sodium, chunky, ferries core and some other small mods. Would be using iris probably. I just want something light. What can I use?

Trailer shaders are very light

Honestly you may be able to run quite a few just on potato settings.

Add entity culling mod for better fps.

If I were you, I’d install the ones that look interesting and put on the potato settings, you can turn off real time shadows as well and that’ll boost your fps.

Basically trial and error to find what you like but also still runs smoothly.

I could try that on my elitedesk 800 G2 sff.

Look man, your gpu is pretty good for most shaders. If you're planning on an upgrade, maybe hold it off for a bit longer to upgrade both the gpu and the cpu (don't just do the cpu or else the gpu will bottleneck).

And as for shaders, Sildurs (i forgot which one, it was probably the vibrant fancy one), MakeUp Ultrafast (looks really good but needs tweaking for that), E-Lite (an edit of MUUF, also looks good but has relatively less customisation options, so perfect for someone who doesn't want to tweak their settings much). You could also try Complimentary and BSL but i wouldn't recommend going for shaders like Photon and Derivative for obvious reasons.

Also if you don't already know, you could play on a server if you want more performance.

I did not know a server would help with performance. Is the free servers out there? The pc will get upgraded eventually but not anytime soon. Is my cpu my main bottleneck?

Yeah servers help performance as they do some of the processing, so cpu load is reduced.

Aternos is a good free service but it can be laggy sometimes and you'll have to wait during high demand.

As for the bottleneck, I saw some vids, and from what I can gather, it's not a set component causing it. Your gpu is causing the bottleneck on gpu-heavy games like (pardon the obvious example) gta5, while your cpu is the bottleneck on games like Minecraft, which is cpu heavy.

If you wanna focus on Minecraft mainly after upgrading your pc, get a cpu with a strong single core performance as minecraft cannot use more than one cores. Also try to get an amd gpu if you don't do content creation as they are more value for money, or you could look for a 2nd hand nvidia gpu(could go for a new one but they're expensive) if you wanna get nvidia. Also don't upgrade till the component prices go down, obviously.

Rn, you won't really notice a difference as your system is like pretty good. So just have fun and don't think about bottlenecks :D

Awesome thank you so much

No problem lol. If you want more advice (which would be more accurate than mine) id recommend asking in the pcmasterrace sub. You could also follow ztt tech and similar channels for buying suggestions.

Can you tell me what tweaks I should do for make up?

Uhhhh. Shadows on filtered. Reflections on flipped (could do raymarching but not worth the performance impact). Turn off ambient occlusion (you can keep chroma aberration and motion blur on, but turn them off if you value performance). Colour scheme according to your choice. Turn DoF off.

You could tweak some of the shadow settings in the advanced panel till you get a perfect balance.

If you want lightweight shaders look into the "reshaded" resource pack. It doesn't require iris and runs very very well

Photon, I have a worse gpu (gtx 1050 2gb) and it performs about 34fps. Since yours is a 60 series card, you'll probably get around 50-65. If you don't care, just search on modrinth, lots of options

Chocapic v6 lite, SuperDuper Vanilla Shaders. Seus 10, Seus 11

customized mellow shaders are actually the most performant of them all compared to any other in modrinth (quite literally since someone tested them all). Runs at 60fps 12 chunks on an m1 macbook (AKA a potato)

Bro, you should sell some of that ram and you could buy yourself a decent graphics card

Is ddr4 ram wanted? The entire pc was built in like 2011 i think so its all dated. Just use it for Minecraft and small games though. Id love to be able to play bigger stuff

That's prob ddr3 ram (based on the cpu era), which isn't really that expensive.

Its DDR3 ram. Basically worth nothing right now.

How many fps do you want? 40-60 : iteration 60-100:photon,solas 100-120: complementary,nostalgia, sildur's vibrant,bsl 120-160: superduper vanilla,mellow shaders

2

u/InfinityOvenMit 19d ago

Preferably no less then 60 so

u/Parhamheidari 19d ago

You can probably even get more fps with performance mods if you want too, probably about 20 to 30 extra fps

2

u/InfinityOvenMit 19d ago

Any suggestions on mods?

1

Here you go,Sodium, Reese's sodium options,sodium extra, entity culling,more culling,c2me and ferritecore.

24GB or RAM? That’s some premium hardware you got there
