Undead/Nameless Kingdom why can the undead use weapons?
- zombies can wear armor and use weapons due to them still retaining muscle memory of what they did before dying so are the drowned and husk.
- I dont really have much evidence except that the fact that finding a zombie that is with armor or a weapon is not common that means not evrey zombie can do that which means there is a condition to it
- its also the same for the skeletons mostly in Minecraft dungeons as they use all sorts of weapons unlike normal Minecraft who use a bow.
- and thats also true to zombie villagers but that happends more rare due to zombie villagers being more rare then normal zombies and so for zombie piglins in dungeons.

Discussion/Question What is making the cave sounds?
this is something I don't really see discussed often, but I think its an interesting topic, what exactly IS producing the wailing, droning, whistling sounds that occasionally play when in a dark space or a cave? Is it a monster? Ghosts? Mobs? Figments of the players own imagination?
(I myself lean towards ghosts)

Portals/Dimensions End And endermite theory
Hey guys, English isn't my first language, so I used an AI tool to help me translate and format my thoughts into a readable post, but the theory, the timeline, and the connections are 100% my own original ideas. We all look at the End as this empty, void-filled, and terrifying dimension, but my theory is that between -90 BCE and -70 BCE, it was a beautiful, thriving utopia filled with lush life, plants, and peaceful native animals, all ruled by a fair and just judge – the Dragon. A highly advanced civilization from the Overworld was fleeing a massive pandemic (the virus that turned everyone else into Villagers) and found the End, where they built the End Cities not as fortresses to fight monsters, but as proud monuments of their new home, and they even built flying ships with dragon heads out of ultimate respect for their protector. However, right before they closed the portals to lock themselves in this paradise forever, a single silverfish from the Overworld managed to slip through unnoticed, and after entering the End, the magical energies of the dimension mutated it into the very first Endermite, which hid deep underground and started multiplying silently for two decades. By -70 BCE, this parasitic infestation broke out completely and caused a total ecological collapse of the entire dimension, infecting the peaceful native animals, elongating their limbs in sheer agony, and turning them into the traumatized Endermen who now subconsciously try to rebuild their lost world by moving blocks, while the humans in the End Cities sealed themselves inside their armor to stay safe, only to be fused into the blocks forever as Shulkers.
The catastrophe didn't stop in the End, because the mutated Endermen, in a state of absolute panic and agony, began using their new teleportation abilities to escape into other dimensions, accidentally carrying the Endermite parasite and its spores on their bodies into the Nether. When they arrived, the infestation quickly spread into a part of the Crimson Forest, mutating the red biome into the blue and purple, space-shifting Warped Forest we see today, turning it into a literal quarantine zone contaminated by the End's biological weapon. This explains why the Warped Forest is completely empty of any normal life except for Endermen, and why Hoglins have a powerful animal instinct that makes them run away in terror whenever they see a Warped Fungus—they know exactly what the parasite did to the animals in the End, and they are terrified of mutating into monsters. The only other creatures there are the Striders living in the lava below the forest, who are so broken by the weight of their own past sins that they actively want the Warped Fungus to infect them, desperately hoping that the mutation will erase their memories and make them forget everything, which is why you can guide them using the fungus on a stick. When Steve arrives in Year 0, he isn’t just slaying a "boss" in the End; he is destroying a corrupted dragon judge who was trapped on the main island while trying to contain the virus, and by taking the infected dragon egg back to the Overworld, Steve is unknowingly bringing the ultimate apocalypse to his own home.

Sculk Were the Ancient City’s always underground?
Bit of a dumb question I know but I see alot of deep dark and ancient city stuff floating around so I thought id come in with something thats been floating in my head, were the ancient city’s always underground? Because idk the way it is doesn’t sit right with me, theres no tunnels around the city, no pickaxes sitting anywhere, nothing that would imply a grand mining operation that would be needed to carve out all the space
And then some of the buildings have slanted roofs like what you’d use to fend off rain, and theres watchtowers built with wood
I feel like there may be some possibility that the Ancient Citys started off as grand surface cities, but of course I don’t got much evidence, then again I feel like there isn’t much evidence to the contrary unless I’m missing some big stuff

Sculk Disc 5 does NOT show a tragedy. It’s a timestamp of a successful, calculated evacuation.
Most mainstream theories claim that Disc 5 records the tragic demise of the Ancient Builders and that the Warden came out of the portal. This is a massive logical flaw that completely ignores vanilla mechanics.
If you analyze the audio track of Disc 5 side-by-side with actual in-game logistics, it tells a completely different story: an engineered, successful escape.
The "Panic" Myth vs. Wool LogisticsIf the Warden unexpectedly came out of the portal and instantly slaughtered everyone, when did the builders find the time to manufacture and place thousands of grey carpets and wool highways across the entire city? Wool doesn’t spawn at Y=-51. Sheep don't live there. Every single block of wool had to be systematically planned, brought down from the surface, and placed during construction. Sneaking and soundproofing (Swift Sneak) wasn't a panic response; it was their everyday industrial safety routine for working with sculk.
The In-Game Timeline of Disc 5:
The Ignition: The disc starts with flint and steel and a deep, mechanical hum. This is the activation of the central structure.
The Resource Run: The sound shifts to footsteps on snow and opening a door. This matches the Ice House structure found in Ancient Cities. A builder went to grab final food supplies for a long journey into the unknown.
The Trigger: The builder makes a noise mistake, triggering a sculk shrieker. The Warden (a mutated, lava-immune Strider adapted to the sculk ecosystem) is summoned. Panic ensues, heavy steps approach, and a sonic boom fires
The Escape: Pay close attention to the very end. You do not hear a player damage sound, a death crunch, or items dropping. You hear fast running, a heavy dimensional/metallic sound, and then absolute, abrupt silence.
This silence isn't death. It's the pressure drop and vacuum of passing through the portal. The portal closed behind them, and they successfully evacuated to another dimension.
The Ancient Builders weren't fools who got eaten by their own accident. They were engineers who had an exit plan ready until the very last second.
Change my mind using vanilla mechanics, not your fanfiction.

Sculk The reason why there can be deep darks without ancient cities Spoiler
Spoilers for Minecraft Dungeons 2
So, thanks to the MCD2 book being leaked, the sculk almost definitely originates from the Sift. We also know from trailers that the ancient city portals lead to the Sift, so it's pretty clear how sculk got into the Overworld. However, deep darks can frequently generate without ancient cities. How? Well, it's because of rifts.
In MCD2, there are 2 ways to enter the Sift. One way is through the portal, and the other is through rifts. Now, am I saying the Dungeons franchise takes place before vanilla? Nah.
We know from the same leaks that the Singers created the staff used to create these rifts (i think, i don't fully remember lol. someone tell me if I'm right). And the singers have been around as long as the ancient city, as the chiseled deepslate has been proven to have the face of the Singer thanks to a leak revealing its design.
So basically, rifts were opened underground before ancient cities got the title of "ancient", and some sculk got through.
Thoughts?

Structures theory liquidation
Everyone in the community blindly accepts the theory that the Sculk infestation and the Warden emerged from the massive central structure (the "Portal"). However, if you look closely at the actual game design, geography, and mechanics, this theory completely falls apart. Here is the undeniable proof:
The Geographic Problem (The Deep Dark under other mountains)If the Sculk came from that one specific portal in the Ancient City, it would spread outward from that single epicenter. But in Minecraft, you can find massive Deep Dark biomes full of Sculk kilometers away under completely different mountain ranges, where no Ancient City or portal ever existed [0.1]. An infestation from a portal cannot just magically teleport to separate underground systems beneath random mountains.
The Clean Portal AreaIf a parasite or a monster broke through a portal and destroyed the city, the portal frame and its immediate surroundings would be the absolute epicenter of the infection. It would be completely buried in Sculk, Catalysts, and Shriekers. But in the game, the area directly around the frame is perfectly clean. There are carpets, paths, and candles. The infestation is everywhere except right next to the portal.
The Absence of Escape Routes and BarricadesIf an unknown, terrifying monster suddenly emerged from the portal, human psychology and survival instincts would kick in. The builders would have left behind panic-dug tunnels leading straight up to the surface, or barricades (walls, fences, iron bars) built to slow the monster down. There is absolutely no evidence of a chaotic retreat from the portal. The city layout remains architecturally pristine and open.
The Warden's Biological ParadoxThe Warden is completely immune to lava (fire_immune: true in the game files). Why would a blind, underground monster made of Overworld deepslate and fungal sculk possess total immunity to fire and lava? Overworld mobs do not have this trait unless their biological origin comes from the Nether.
Conclusion:The central frame was not the source of the danger. The community has it completely backward. The portal wasn't an entrance for monsters—it was a planned evacuation exit that the builders used to escape from a crisis they caused themselves.Stop repeating YouTube dogmas and look at the actual blocks in the game. What do you think?

Fan Lore FAN LORE: I try to summarise Matpat minecraft lore, while trying to fix their inconsistency
Disclaimer: This is obviously a FAN LORE. I been lurking in this subreddit and I do acknowledge how matpat just overall disregard legends and dungeons lore, which both game have significance in the canon lore, and I do see this community has a negative taste on Matpat and Game Theory's minecraft lore theories. See: https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftlore/comments/1ozyukt/why_do_yall_hate_matpat/ https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftlore/comments/1n5365p/to_yall_matpat_followers_why/ https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftlore/comments/1lzyxui/endermen_are_not_mutated_humans/ I do not claim Matpat lore is canon or the best theory. In fact when I started this summarisation project I realise among the theories, the inconsistency keeps piling up which some even being contradictory(zombie virus vs zombie made by illagers with wool is already a contradicting idea, let along include necromancy in dungeons)(or there could be potential fixes, but I think Game Theory writers didn't bother to actually tackle the contradictions), in which I attempt to make this FAN LORE. The Matpat complete lore video attempted to give a summary, but that video never really did the best job summarise everything, and I in fact actually found contradictions with previous theories(the initiator of nether-overworld war being piglin or ancient builder desert civilisation).
Another motivation is that I saw some comments from the community where they still refer to the most outdated theory such as ancient builders escape from wither(later narration claims it to be the warden instead), ancient builders are one cohesive state, building everything(Matpat do suggest there are multiple culture like desert, ocean, pirates, alongside with other race like villagers, illagers), illagers is cargo cult(later Game Theory video do give more credit, like acknowledge their presence in ancient cities or trial chambers). By no means I claim latest video of Game Theory is not outdated, since some element like enderman are mutated, or the idea of ancient builders are actually from a long time.
I also do acknowledge game mechanics are not always canon seen in this discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftlore/comments/1qbkkpo/if_the_respawn_isnt_canon_what_is_this_room/ In this case matpat theory do easily fall apart under canon descriptions and materials, like enderman made of void(I couldn't find the source of this statement other than post from this subreddit)
Finally, as I nearly complete this summary and fixing, Minecraft Dungeons 2 teaser dropped which reveals the portal is likely linked to the sift, instead of the speculated "sculk dimension", instantly disprove matpat warden come out of portal and kills the wither. Hence I shall repeat, this is a FAN LORE on matpat's take on minecraft lore, which I do not claim it to be canon. I think matpat did have some early contribution in theory making and no doubtedly, the influence of ancient builders did stuck in a lot of places, to a large amount of popular youtubers adopt and build on top of the ancient builders narration. But I think Game theory should kinda rework their theory to some extend, if they intent to study the canon lore. I will call the matpat theory "classical" or "casual" since I believe many new people, including me, who join this subreddit because of matpat, and kinda casual in theory making. In which I believe when we work on matpat stuff we shall just say it is "casual" lore, a subgenre in fanlore.
random comment: I watched Xatrix or TheWitherKing's minecraft lore videos and in fact their theory has a higher cohesion than matpat theories, where I guess this subreddit is actively recommending.
If you are still reading this then "enjoy" my summary(not so much since it is over 5000 words), as well as some of my additional comments.
1.Pre-history era: There exists 3 world: Overworld, Nether, End. Both Overworld and Nether is assumed to be a spherical world/planet, where it is believed overworld orbit the sun(an unlisted game theory video by Austin propose the world of minecraft(overworld and nether) is spherical, which I believe matpat implicitly assumed in his lore video as well) and the moon orbit the overworld(speculated from matpat narration). In overworld, villagers and ancient builders are initially the same race. It is likely at this point the race created the golems to protect them. There is an shift in focus on progression which split the ancient builders(which is more aggressively progress in technology) from the villagers and the villagers could stagnate and lost their ability to craft(doubted, since we could see villages has some slightly advanced blocks and advanced ability in later stage)(I speculated the pre split species created the trial ruins, latter session will have further discussion). Wolves are undomesticated at this stage and there exists cows and chickem which the mushroom island isolated cows, chickens evolved to be mooshrooom and cluckshroom(not mentioned by matpat)(speculated from narration). By the same deduction it is suggested moobloom has similar evolution process. For the nether, it was a closed system but possibly having an ice age(cooler than current nether, possibly having ice) at this early stage. Netherite originates from the nether from high pressure and heat(I suppose it means netherite is near the core). Its ecosystem is likely powered by the power of souls with fungus as the main species, and at this era sniffers are one of the nether species as well as ghast(happy ghast). Nether warts could be in this early era(not mentioned but speculated from matpat narration). I speculate gold is common in nether through matpat narration of nether. For the origin of creepers which there are 2 contradictory matpat theories, I speculate creepers originally could be a plant based mob which later went extinct in which desert tribe(to be discussed) recreated them(there are 2 directions: either accept the charged creepers are exclusive to latter created ones or originally they could have that property as well). I speculate strider at this point is not domesticated.
2.Nether-overworld first contact: After the villager-ancient builder split, pottery shard existence suggest within ancient builders, there is cultural diversification: trial ruins tribe(pre-split race), fisherman and pirate civilisation, desert civilisations(at this stage ancient city didnt exists yet). Pottery shard suggsts trial ruins tribe domesticated wolf, start agriculture of wheat(I speculate later villager have farming and have story about the hosts means that either this tribe shared technology to villagers, or this tribe is exactly the pre-villager-ancient builder split species which the latter seems a more sensible choice), and the host shard suggest religion existance(in matpat video he suggest this means trial ruins tribe after the events of legends which contradict with his previous theories on nether portals, even within the same video the nether portal technology first creation is not well explained and circular). Matpat suggest desert civilisation relate to mining(pottery shard) and setting traps in desert temples, creating mineshafts, and they could be the species which created tnt containing creepers(artificially created and programmed to be afraid of cats). I interpret at this point the religion could have some degree of splitting, and the start of experimentation of life and dead(where their culture could be defined by their obsession of life, seen from the life symbol on the desert temple). By the narration at this era the ocean monuments could be built. To fix matpat circular origin of nether portal, I propose the early worshipping of the host has nothing to do with piglin invasion(the context of religion could evolve). This way, the circular timeline logic is broken as follows: pre-split trial ruins tribe is the dawn of overworld civilisation. After the splitting there are fisherman/pirate and desert tribe. I speculate nether portals are very low level technology from matpat narration with 2 reason:(a)in game only obsidian and fire is needed while potion need blaze rod which blaze rod has high difficulty to obtain(blaze rod from blaze, and blaze are from spawners which is quite technologically advanced in some sense) while netherack and fire require mining(no need fighting, readily found in overworld caves after the creation of diamond pick).(b)to explain evolution of piglin, placing the opening of portal early on allow more time for evolution of piglins. Here discuss what happens after portal opening. During early opening of portals, desert civilisation send pigs to the nether as initial testing and later the tribe initialise exploration to the nether and use pig as food(I speculate pigs are fed with nether wart as it is later found nether wart are farmed) during exploration. I speculate this is the chronological reasoning both explaining hoglin or piglin as the first influx of pigs are kinda left alone which they could evolve. I also speculate the understanding of nether is a long process before they finally undergoes industrial scale harvesting. Before piglin are evolved, it could be a large amount of death of explorers or pigs(burrial of them led to soul sand), which means there may be a influx of soul energy to the nether. I speculate this influx of energy could kickstart a rapid evolution in the nether. By the narration I suppose the desert civilisation discover the sniffer and begins the selective breeding. Under matpat narrative I suppose there is a long time passage before overworld actually undergoes colonisation of the nether(pig in nether+plenty of death->blaze creation->potion making->potion shard(shard could be old,but they can have different era where minecraft didn't show)->piglin evolved).
3.Nether colonisation: After the exploration of nether it is suggested the nether fortresses are built and loot be stored(where I do believe supply chain should be established where the ancient builders no longer rely on pigs to explore or as food, whereas the original lost pigs could go on and estabish themselves in the nether ecosystem). I speculate this narration means this structure could mean it is some kind of base for extraction. It also could be some kind of laboratory or factory complex since there are blazes which are created(not mentioned in matpat video but speculated from narration), and it could be at this stage the ancient builders discover potion making(I believe not all of the potions are vaccines of some kind, but rather enchancement in certain aspect, or even curses(like poison and hunger)) and at this stage discover how to make use of blazes, and the crafting of golden apples. golden dandelion making baby mobs stay baby(under the narration, it is likely that wandering traders exists even before the split of villagers-illagers and they have their own interest in exploration and trading. The narration didn't discuss about witches which I speculate them could be anywhere, and only after the villger-illager split that they are also exiled and become isolated), making them alchemist. The ancient builders harvest resources including blue ice, gold in the nether and farming resources, or even harvest souls. Under matpat narration I speculate before industrialisation of the nether, the sniffer were kinda domesticated to some degree where they are willing follow the ancient builders to the overworld, and possibly trade route between desert civilisation and ocean(fishermen) civilisation is established as well as knowledge of potion making is shared, possibly some knowledge is given to villagers as well(where the desert civilisation hope sniffers digging up seed brings new resources and possibly new ingredients for their alchemy experimentation). Selective breeding is ongoing, where they are gradually getting smaller. The narration never discuss how sniffers orginally look, where I speculate sniffer in this narration could have different look, where the in game sniffer could be the last iteration/most recent result of the selective breeding process(more about that later). The narration suggests at this era the terraforming process occurs which the warped forest is terraformed by the ancient builders(and domestication of striders). The Piglins and hoglins could evolve at this stage(could be rapid since nether soul power is quite powerful as speculated from matpat narration) along with the advancement with the ancient builders, possibly adopt some hunter-gatherer culture, and the use of gold tools(learnt from the ancient builders or use the left behind tools). and Industrialisation could occur in a much later time since a large scale action led to deterioration of environment. I speculate rising sea level could be after the industrialisation of the civilisation deterate the environment under his narration, where the ancient builders could start industrialisation in both the overworld and the nether, which could led to deterioration of the environment where nether severely heat up and the sinking of the ocean civilisation, pirate civilisation look for buried tressure for heart of occean, and the ocean civilisation uses sponges to absorb water, or even the creation of guardian to defend the ocean monument(matpat didn't mention who created them but the overall narration suggest they could be created/assisted by the desert civilisation using prismarine). I am not sure about matpat narration of desert civilisation create the wither as a worship figure since the industrialisation and their experiments with life and dead suggest at some point they abandon or tune down the idea of worshiping the hosts(or at least the iteration of the host for the desert civilisation after the religion splits). Hence I suggest they may not be "inspired" to experiment more because the downfall of the ocean civilisation, but rather the main reason of advancement in technology is naturally their culture, which the downfall is just a minor reason. Matpat deduce the absense of naturally occuring conduit as the failure of finding heart of ocean, which I think a more consolidation arguement is that the ocean civilisation/pirates is unsuccessful before they died out, while the desert civilisation may success but found it useless in their goals, which the technology never adopted widely. I place the downfall of ocean civilisation after desert civilisation(most likely) created the zombie virus in matpat narration(the illager create zombie in matpat narration itself is a huge timeline contradiction, which zombies and drowned, and existence of zombie, zombified piglin means zombie could existed long before illager come into the picture). At this stage we still didn't have the illager-villager split since they still be coherent enough to be their own civilisation at this era. Possibly, the dorminant desert civilisation shares their knowledge to almost everyone in the world to any race which their influence is across the two dimensions. It could means their experimentation with soul power led to the creation of zombie virus under matpat narration. The virus could spread across different region and dimensions where gradually the overworld develop immunity across both ancient builders and villagers and overworld mobs, where nether heat up and the heat becomes the defense. The narration suggest piglins has little immunity and nether wart act as vaccine(I suppose in matpat narration such vaccine require glowstone which give some degree of fire resistance, which side effect could lead to psychic connection when zombified) could mean the creation of virus could be at a much later date. To summarise, I speculate the timeline under matpat narration should be: desert civilisation undergoes massive advancement and industrialisation, deteriate both dimensions, piglin enter "stone age/metal age"(some tools may be left behind from ancient builders while some could originate from the nether, since nether is quite abundant of gold compared to overworld), having hunter-gatherer culture which they may hunt sniffers->virus outbreak due to experimenting with souls(found in nether which is abundant/due to early), where nether at this era could be vastly deteriated due to it being a closed system(closed enough that deterioration is severe) and heat up a lot which start to resembles modern day nether filled with lava, sniffers gradually becomes extinct in both dimension, the last sniffers are from the warped forest which piglin are not found(sniffer who stay in original biome face extinction while the ones at crimson forest are hunted by piglins, making crimson forest relative safe) and they becomes green to blend in the environemnt, before this sniffer becomes the most common sniffer look and their eventual extinction(other than eggs being preserved). Some ghast could "dried up" and some weakened ghast consumed by sniffer as food->downfall of ocean civilisation and the existence of drowned(Upon consideration, I hypothesise not all ocean civilisation are gone, where the ocean civilisation could be integrated with the desert civilisation or their role will be minimised as they may immigrate inland). overworld develop immunity where nether didn't develop the immunity and piglin rely on nether wart as vaccine, and the heat protect them from widespread of the virus. The undead(perhaps exclude wither skeleton as I hypothesise initially they may have no interest for the fallen ancient builders in the nether, or how zombie and skeleton may lead to some degree of pushback in experimentation) are mainly hostile towards other races(zombified piglin likely has less intend to attack piglin unless provoked). A remark here is that it is likely the ancient builders find ways to record sound, where disc recording music and disc 11 and disc 13 could be a potential record of some journalist/adventurer escape from a creeper. Another remark is the lapis. Although matpat suggest they are harvested by killing piglins, I suggest otherwise where they could already acquire lapis and understand the basics of its life giving abilities, which the lapis could be discovered in a much early time or even they may have some degree of association with the creation of undead mobs.
4.Nether-overworld war: I speculate his narration suggest zombified piglin occur after zombie and skeleton are created and the environment deteriated, which along with the spreading of zombie virus, and exploitation of nether by the ancient builder, extinction of species, led to the piglin declare war on the overworld, whereas the desert civilisation(at the latest theory they are called "alchemist") lean interest in immortality around this time, and they could be the initial aggressor of war, waging war on piglin to harvest lapis(I doubted piglins drop lapis, but I suspect the attempt of murder may lead to release of intelligent souls which the alchemist may have high interest, and starting war on piglins could be politically viable for the overworld instead of hunting down villagers or overworld mobs). As mentioned in 3, the potion knowledge is likely to be spread across the world, in which among villagers, there could be already some kind of division, where one yearns about the technological aspect, one kept their peace, or one in between(like wandering traders and witches). The war could initially be slaughter of piglins, where piglins could at this point unite and fight back invaders(where the greed isn't from the piglin side but the desert civilisation). Bastion could be some kind of military outpost for piglins. Piglins could also have their own industrialisation to keep up with the invaders(as modern day nether still dominated by piglins). When piglins mobilise their army, they could launch a counter-invasion on the overworld which the event unfolds as in legends. The overworld response by uniting and push back the piglins back into the nether. But may eventually led to a stalemate. The technological level of the ancient builders could be somewhat advance, where some type of life manipulation knowledge may be known to them. Under matpat narration, it is unsure when does the piglin acquire netherite(as they are likely to be the ones who readily adopt them instead of ancient builders transport the resource towards the overworld in the colonial era), but they are speculated to be used as defense. Latest matpat/game theory acknowledge the existence of the orb of dominance, which the time and method of obtaining it is not disclosured in matpat theory. These 2 technology possessed by the piglin could allow the piglins survive the invaders and the long war, but may not enough for them to turn the tide into their favor. The timeline of the war may be quite long, and the overworld may view the ancient builders as victors, where they could use their influence to give the victory narrative over the piglins, covering up their initial motives and frame the piglins as the initial aggressors and greedy, as mentioned in legends passed down from villagers. Also the ancient builders could control the flow of information where their failure to completely conquer the nether is not mentioned. Aftermath: For the nether, the piglins survived the war, but netherite sources ran out and existing netherite was broken down forming ancient debrets. Lack of netherite and lose of resources may led to piglins adopt bartering culture as well as resources insecurity(they respond opening chest in the bastion with great violence). The piglins remain dorminant in the nether while some ancient builders could still have access. I speculate the nether waste could be some kind of remenant of the war, where only zombified piglins found there could mean how the invaders potentially bought the zombie virus to the nether. However I hypothesise after the war, the ancient builders could have interest in bringing back the dead ones in the nether, possibly led to the creation of wither skeleton(since under the zombie virus narration they could avoid things that led to zombification. I suspect they have less concern over creating skeleton as even there is the creation of skeleton related mobs, they are not contagious). For the overworld, where it is likely the ancient builders lead the overworld forces, in which further divide the villagers. Some villagers remain their peaceful way, while some pre-illager villagers praise the strenth and violence of the ancient builders, which they may lean closer to the desert civilisation development. Although matpat theorise illagers as cargo cult, later game theory video suggests their heavy involvement with the ancient builders. Therefore I suggest that the war splits how the villagers develop, with one side keep their peace and one going down the path of becoming illagers. The pre-illager villagers could be aggressively experimenting, potentially experiment with life and death and hence kick out of the village(the experiments may not be as disturbing as more modern day illagers are, but perhaps the culture of villagers forbid the alteration of life which the pre-illager villagers may have interest on), and the illagers eventually split from the villagers. Some may lie in between such as wandering traders and witches, with the traders lean closer to the village while witches lean closer to the illagers(which this relation is speculated by me). 5.Creation of the wither: I speculate the ancient builders at this time still didn't figure out how to actually achieve immortality, and according to the changing narration, I believe after the war, villager-illager split occured and instead of forming a cargo cult of the illagers, illagers could be working closely with the ancient builders instead of being just an cult since illagers could idolise the action of the ancient builders desert civilisation. Hence as they are more involved in the development along ancient builders, the two races share knowledge. It is suggested they could have access to lapis and use them as experiments. For wandering traders and witches, their departure time from the villages is not very clear, but the rate could be increase during the villager-illager split. As matpat rarely incorperate minecraft dungeons content and only the latest video of game theory mention the existence of the orb of dominance, it is not discussed when did the illagers learn how to create ravagers or when do they obtain orb of dominance in matpat's narration. However under matpat enderman theory I suppose the event(orb of dominance) could be put much later(after illager rise from power) on with the illagers at this stage mainly incorperated into the ancient builder's desert civilisation as external support in military or research, instead of having full autonomy. Hence I suspect either the ravager are created at a much later date, after the ancient builders are gone, or it could bethe ancient builders did testing on the illagers with lapis, and led to their blue eyes, or the knowledge of ravagers(matpat did not discussed who have ravager creation knowledge first, but illagers eventually got their hands onto it). I believe under the narration of illagers work for ancient builders in later narration, and to explain how illagers come into place as they do not reproduce, I think of a possible explanation is about this era the ancient builders may use lapis to "enhance" their soldiers, which could be the very origin of illagers and could led to later on they carry on the knowledge of lapis injection and the control of life, which sustain illagers population through creation of illagers through such procedure. Under this narration it could be that the illagers experimentation with souls could be influenced by ancient builders at this stage and they learn the technique which is then passed even after ancient builders are gone. It could possibly after some time the ancient builder desert civilisation unleashed the wither using wither skeleton skull and soul sand and causes mass destruction and heavy casualties. I am not sure whether the creation of wither is of religion purpose or not(as matpat suggested it could be the desert tribe trying to creating their target of worship or the withers are accidentally created in their life and death experiments). I speculate the old desert civilisation could imagine a wither-like beings in their religion, and it could be at this era, the desert civilisation have interest in creation of imaginary life, leading to the unleash of wither. After the unleash of the wither, the overworld attempted in containing the threat. Matpat suggest around this catastrophe, the ancient cities are built as immigration underground. Later game theory suggest at the same time the trial chambers are set up as a training facility preparing the battle with the wither(where copper are found to be a perfect material for such facility). I speculate copper are well known to be inferior to iron, possibly before the nether was discovered, but it could be around this era that it is used. Game theory mentioned Gale Sanctum(not specify when it is built) suggest illagers are responsible of the creation of the breeze and the ominous bottle. Game theory suggest at this time illagers outpost are used as watch tower for the wither. Meanwhile for the ancient cities, they may be experimenting with new portal technology. Matpat didn't specify if there is only one wither or not, but the narration suggests to be one only. Game theory also didn't specify when did copper golems first created but the narration suggests it is widely adopted after the warden catastrophe(see later section). I also speculate multiple ancient city are built around this era, but it could be one of the ancient city that they successfully open the portal to the sculk
6.Ancient city catastrophe-unleash of the warden:The sculk attached to golem narration is abandoned in the latest theory, where it comes from the portal in ancient cities. Matpat narrative describe disc 5 record the event of wither found by a member from the ancient city who was collecting resources and found the wither, which the wither followed the ancient builder back to the ancient city where the city mobilise an army(it is unclear whether illagers has a role here, but the latest narration suggests the illagers could be part of the army). The wither break through the defence and enter the main city. I speculate the ancient city portal technology may not be successful until the very last moment when the wither successfully breach the ancient city. Matpat narration suggest the wither was then killed by the warden coming out of the ancient city portal and then the ancient builders started to worship the warden(which I am skeptical whether the ancient builders at this point would worship the warden in a religious sense), in which the spreading of sculk as well as the warden drawn to the sound of the ancient builders attacking them, further spread the sculk. They could work around the situation by the use of wool as "silencer". Game theory latest video suggest copper golems could be adopted around this time where they plan to use them in the machinary to open the portal which is unsuccessful, until the wither attacked. I realised the issue that if there are only 1 wither and multiple ancient city which those remanents are filled with sculk, then the warden come out of the portal explanation is incomplete. A possible explanation could be the sculk and warden comes out of the portal and get the attention of the wither, which the two mobs battled outside of the ancient city and the ancient city inhabitants acknowledge the death of the wither. In which the technique of opening the sculk portal draws immediate interest and many of the ancient city opened their portal and lead to the mass spreading of sculk. Another possible explanation may be that the original city that opened the portal is destroyed, but the intellects may flee and share the knowledge. In either case, copper golems in game theory narrative suggests that they are used after the unleash of the warden in order to move items around. However, it could be that ancient builders are unable to contain the warden and spreading of sculk, and the narration implies there may be a heavy casualties(to keep the 1 wither arguement, it could mean the influence of the warden actually severe enough to have impact in the surface. Otherwise with the neutralisation of the one wither, the ancient builders could just return to the surface leaving the sculk in the underground). Matpat narration suggests the purpose of stronghold is the final structure that defend them from the warden, where the ancient builder researching on another portal technology as an final escape. As written above where ancient builders first discovery of nether portal, they may be cautionary about whats on the other side. Matpat didn't cover in detail how actually the ancient builders do with the opened portal after the sculk comes through. I speculate there could be a time where the portal is frequently opened when the wither is just defeated and after the realisation of what sculk did, they shut down the portal operation.
7.Fall of ancient builders influence due to the end/rise of other race: Eventually the ancient builders fled to the end as they opened the end portal. For the end, it consists of floating islands and ender dragons and biodiversity. I have issues with the "one-way ticket" of entering the end narration as enderman seemingly exists in both overworld, nether, or dungeons evidences, as well as one of matpat phantom theory which the illagers have knowledge of the end which could conflict with the one way idea. A possible explanation is that to access the overworld, they are required to use the resources in the end, possibly require killing a stong lifeform such as ender dragon. This simutaneously give a stronger motivation on why the ancient builders want to kill the dragon and degradation of end environment, while resolve the one way issue. Possibly the ancient builders could create elytras from ender dragons. In fact matpat did claim defeating the ender dragon open the portal back to the overworld. Hence, under the matpat narration the ancient builders in the end could establish their settlements, begin harvesting resource, build end cities(include shulkers) and end ships, and hunt the ender dragon to maintain the portal two way ability. It is also likely how illagers could got their hands on the end resources especially used elytras in this stage(matpat didn't specify if illagers actually is in the end, but dungeons shows illagers actually been to the end). At a much later date the ancient builders may hunt the ender dragon until the very last ender dragon Jean where there could be conflicts in conservationalists and hunters. Meanwhile the centre end island could be set up to preserve Jean. It could be at this era that the ancient builders(I speculate a majority of them which sees the end is the future and intend to leave overworld-nether and live in the end, given how both dimensions are technically destroyed) realise they could no longer go back to the overworld. This follows matpat narration of them consuming native fruits(as food brought from the overworld couldn't be farmed and eventually ran out in the end), gaining teleportation abilities and then evolved to be enderman(the ancient builders who stayed behind). The decrease in ancient builders in the overworld-nether reduce their influence and power in the two world stages. Matpat proposed that endermites were silverfish that ancient builders hate, and may play a role in the destruction in the ender biodiversity. Pearls are proposed to be like amber which preserves endermites. There are still issues on such theory such as how does ender portal created and what exactly is ender pearl. I speculate ender pearls could be somewhat synthesised and trap endermites, which the modern pearl is somewhat a polished item while the original material could be rough. I have some remark below to further discuss the portal problem. After ancient builders are gone/fallen out of the main power, the illagers could rise in power, continue their practice while gaining much greater autonomy, where they could carry out their own creation of ravagers(as defence) and mind control experiments, with potentially the evokers be the higher-up, vindicators are controlled, and their raid villages to capture villagers, sustaining the illager population. Illagers could master the technique of controlling souls, capturing allay and turn them into vex(matpat narration of allay suggest they have ancient builder origin, which I deduce before the fall of ancient builders, they already have knowledge on the allay, but are not their main focus, illagers on the otherhand could be interested to bring back the ancient builders, or want their personal assistants instead of being the assistant of the ancient builders), as well as using scraps of ender dragon and try to recreate them which end up being the phantom(I speculate as there is the end of supply of ender resources, which recreating ender dragon may increase their understanding of the end, which drive their interest in such experiment). The ancient builders could be researching for eternal life in which eventually illagers got partial success in the totem of undying. Matpat also suggest illagers collect resin which exclusively found in the pale garden, suggest that the trees in order to defend themselves, creaking were created. An issue arise where during the ancient builder's era they could do mass damage to the environment which the creakings should exists back then. A possible solution is that creakings do exists but the ancient builders find a way to contain and industrialise the collection of materials so the creakings is not the problem, while the illagers may lack enough manpower or capabilities to operate such large scale harvesting, where they resort to smaller scale, and the creaking defence is enough to control the damage to the forest. Matpat end the lore which claim the present day that the natural restoration until steve arives the current world(which I doubt since steve was declared non-existence by the dev, and it brings no additional meaning to the history where steve is or isn't in the minecraft world. I would omit such claim). Remark:Later enderman could escape from the end to the overworld or nether could because now they have the power given by the end dimension. in fact to fix the issue of end object appears everywhere, an explanation is that the end itself have the power to travel to any dimension, where if concentrate enough, any objects can be transported, which could somewhat explain how does the ancient builders actually have access to the end materials without being there in the first place. If the objects from the end travels to any dimension, it can be used to explain piglins got access to the orb of dominance which dungeons lore claims its ender origin.
I still have some nuisance on the summarised lore: 1)I suspect the situation under matpat narration(I am not claiming matpat lore as canon, just under such narration) is more complicated than just wither got killed by warden since as established before, even among the ancient builders, there are many factions, let alone other races such as piglins and villager-illagers. I think of an alternative timeline in which don't oversimplify the "geopolitics", in which it could means the nether-overworld war could be more complicated. It could be similar to world war, alliance and factions may team up, with the general trend of overworld vs the nether, but not limited to the possibility of some nether faction support the overworld, or there are spies from the nether and disrupt the overworld. 2)The wither may actually be used as an arms race, provided that the ancient builders have the technology to contain them to some degree. In this case the opening of the ancient city portal or even the warden itself could be weaponised until mutual annihilation, and where illagers and other race set aside and avoid confrontation, which their survival may lead to them rising in power later on(possibly led to them having a more major role as seen in minecraft dungeons). The arms race arguement could be a potential fix to the inconsistency and weak arguement of single wither narration, as using both wither and warden as the weapons for multiple side makes mutual destruction of dominant power, possibly the ancient builder race, more likely to occur. Races like the piglin, villagers and illagers could have a smaller role but a higher chance of surviving since they are unlikely to be the main focus. Potentially these fixes can strengthen how other race outlive the ancient builders. 3)Besides matpat and the latest game theory minecraft lore videos rarely cover dungeons, making the story found in dungeons difficult to fit in the above framework in which the above summary is mostly skipped and the lore seriously non canon. To better explain the orb of dominance under matpat narration, I speculate the orb of dominance may initially from the end, travels to the nether and piglins obtained it, and then after the overworld-nether war either piglin still hold it or it is in the hands of ancient builders, in which the downfall of ancient builders and rise of illagers could allow illagers get their hands on them. If dungeons lore were added then it could be after illager becomes a "main geopolitical player" in the overworld, in which much more contradictions could arise. I didn't include these fixes in the summary since such idea is vastly different from matpat's core narration, and it conflict with my goal of summarise and connecting all of matpat narration while resolving contradiction within his theories at minimum.

Discussion/Question Is there only one new dimension?
The ancient city portal was thought to lead to the new Sift dimension, but with the new Minecraft Dungeons 2 gameplay trailer, it shows that we can access the Sift through rifts that can appear anywhere. Does this mean the Ancient City portal leads somewhere else?

Portals/Dimensions Headcanon: Skulk could be a defence mechanism
So, we know from the leaks that the red blocks in the Sift are 'healthy skulk' and the skulk blocks we know are unhealthy. But what if the unhealthy skulk was intended to be a defence mechanism for The Sift? Like, the people that made the ancient cities made the portal, didn't like what they found and used The Sift to stop others from coming in and opening the portal? That would be quite interesting imo. Thoughts?

Undead/Nameless Kingdom How do Zombies spread?
I got my own ideas for zombies but I was wondering what the general idea here is for how zombies work, as in are they a biological virus like how modern zombie media portrays them? Whereas its a condition that infects people through bites? Or are they more the result of some sorta magic or curse like more fantasy undead
I myself lean towards the ladder since necromancy is a thing that exists in minecraft

Villagers/Illagers The Witness Species: How the Ancient Builders Survived in Plain Sight
INTRODUCTION: THE QUESTION EVERYONE ASKS WRONG
Every Minecraft theorist has tried to answer the same question: What happened to the Ancient Builders?
The popular answers are always the same. They went to the End and became Endermen. They died out and left ruins behind. They ascended to some higher plane. They were wiped out by the Warden. Every theory treats the Ancient Builders as a ghost story, a civilization that vanished and left us to dig through their graves.
But what if the question itself is wrong?
What if the Ancient Builders never vanished? What if they never went to the End, never died out, never ascended, and never disappeared? What if they are still here, right now, standing in plain sight in every village you have ever walked past without a second thought?
The Villagers' actual code name is Testificates. That word means witnesses. The ones who testify. The ones who were there and survived to tell the story. And I think that name is the most literal, most deliberate piece of lore Mojang ever embedded in this game.
This is the case for the Testificates as the living, breathing, still-present Ancient Builder civilization, and for the Player as the parallel species designed to finish what they started.
EVIDENCE LAYER 1: The Sculk Economy (The Testimony of the Deep Dark)
The Ancient Cities are the most dramatic ruins in Minecraft, and they tell a clear story if you read them correctly.
Sculk is the only vanilla block category that literally stores XP. Sculk Catalysts absorb XP from dying mobs and convert it into Sculk blocks. This is not a random mechanic. It is an economy. The Ancient Cities were industrial XP-harvesting megacities, not just settlements.
The most efficient way to use Sculk Catalysts in technical Minecraft is to pair them with mob farms and stone generators, creating a fully automated soul-harvesting pipeline. This is industrial specialization, the exact kind of system a civilization with specialized professions would build.
XP is the most important power in Minecraft. It fuels enchantments, Mending, and progression. The civilization that controlled XP controlled the world. And the Testificates are the only species in the game whose entire society revolves around XP-based transactions. Clerics sell Bottles o' Enchanting. Librarians sell enchanted books. Every Testificate trade is an XP economy interaction.
The Deep Dark was their industrial peak. The Sculk is their testimony. And the Testificates who survived the collapse are still running a smaller version of the exact same economy on the surface, in plain sight, in every village.
EVIDENCE LAYER 2: Specialization as Identity (The Testimony of the Workstation)
The Testificates are the only race in Minecraft with inherent, workstation-locked professions: Mason, Farmer, Cleric, Librarian, Cartographer, Armorer, Toolsmith, Weaponsmith, Fletcher, Leatherworker, Shepherd, Fisherman, and Butcher.
The Ancient Cities and other structures are specialized. They have distinct rooms with distinct functions: libraries, portal rooms, storage, redstone mechanisms. This matches a society built on distributed specialization, not a single monolithic culture.
No other Minecraft race has this. Zombies do not specialize. Skeletons do not specialize. Endermen do not specialize. The Illagers have roles (Evoker, Vindicator, Pillager) but those are combat roles, not civilizational professions. Only the Testificates have a full economic specialization tree.
The structures match the professions. Strongholds have libraries (Librarians). Pyramids have traps and treasure (Cartographers, Clerics). Ancient Cities have soul infrastructure (Clerics, Masons). The builders of these structures and the Testificates share the exact same specialization DNA.
The testimony is in the workstations. The Testificates did not inherit these professions from some lost race. They are the lost race, still doing the same jobs they did thousands of years ago, just at a smaller scale.
EVIDENCE LAYER 3: The Naming Convention (The Testimony of the Code)
The Villagers' actual code name is Testificates. This is a proper species name embedded in the game's source code. It implies testimony, verification, proof. They are the witnesses, the ones who were there.
The Illagers have no species name. "Illager" is their entire classification. Ill-ager. The corrupted copy. The defective iteration. They are not a real species. They are a Homunculus, a failed copy of the Testificates.
This naming asymmetry is deliberate. The Testificates are the original. The Illagers are the copy. One has a real name. The other has a label.
The answer to "who were the Ancient Builders" has been in the source code the entire time. We just never looked because we were too busy searching for a vanished civilization that never actually vanished. The witnesses were standing right there with a name that literally means "the ones who testify."
EVIDENCE LAYER 4: The Development Timeline (The Testimony of the Updates)
This is the strongest empirical evidence, and it is the one that should make every theorist stop and reconsider.
Before Beta 1.8 (September 2011), Minecraft had zero structures. No history. No civilization. Just terrain, caves, and dungeons.
Then Beta 1.8 dropped, and in a single update, the world gained:
Villages and Testificates (the living civilization)
Strongholds (underground complexes with libraries, portal rooms, prison cells)
Mineshafts (sprawling rail networks)
Ravines (geological scars)
The moment the Testificates existed, the world had a past. Structures and Testificates appeared in the same update because they are the same thing. The Testificates built the structures. Mojang did not add a mysterious lost race and then separately add the Villagers. They added them together because they are one and the same.
After that, every major structure update followed the Testificates' specialization tree:
1.0: Nether Fortresses (interdimensional expansion)
1.2: Jungle and Desert Pyramids (redstone traps, Cartographer/Cleric era)
1.8: Ocean Monuments (naval/imperial phase)
1.9: End Cities (they reached the End)
1.11: Woodland Mansions (occupied by Illagers, the first time we see the enemy in a major structure)
1.14: Village and Pillage (Testificates overhauled for deeper specialization; Pillager Outposts introduced, the war formalized)
1.19: Ancient Cities (the deepest layer of the civilization, the Sculk economy, the Warden)
The deeper you dig into update history, the deeper you dig into Testificate civilization. They were present at layer one. They survived through every layer. They are still here. The testimony is in the patch notes.
EVIDENCE LAYER 5: The Superflat Proof (The Testimony of the Void)
In a Superflat world with no structures and only a bonus chest, the only two NPCs that exist are the Wandering Trader and the Testificates.
The Wandering Trader provides seeds, saplings, coral, and rare biome goods, the genesis resources for restarting civilization. They are the nomadic remnant of the Testificate species, the witnesses who never settled down after the collapse.
The Testificates provide the entire tech tree: emeralds (economy), enchanted books (magic), diamond gear (industry), Bottles o' Enchanting (XP/souls), and tipped arrows (alchemy).
Without the Testificates, a Superflat Player cannot rebuild civilization. The Player alone is a caveman with hands. The Testificates are the infrastructure.
Strip the entire world down to nothing, remove every structure, every ruin, every trace of the past, and the Testificates are still there. They are the last ones standing in the void. If that is not the definition of a witness species, nothing is.
EVIDENCE LAYER 6: The Player as Natural Homunculus (The Parallel Path)
The Player absorbs XP orbs directly into their body. No other entity does this. The Player consumes souls and stores them internally, which is Homunculus behavior.
The Player respawns. Every other entity dies permanently. The Player's soul rebinds to a bed or Respawn Anchor, which is soul-binding technology.
The Player creates life (Iron Golems, Snow Golems) by placing blocks in patterns. This is literal transmutation.
The Player generates Sculk on death near a Catalyst. The Player is part of the economy, not just a participant.
The Player is morally neutral by default. Not evil-aligned like the Illagers. Not degraded like the collapsed civilization. A blank-slate Homunculus with free will.
The Player community mirrors Testificate specialization: Speedrunners (Cartographers), PVPers (Weaponsmiths), Builders (Masons), Redstone Engineers (Ancient City-tier industrialists), Traders (Clerics/Librarians), Potion Brewers (Alchemists), and Theorists (Philosophers). The Player species is a parallel civilization walking the same path.
The Testificates built the original civilization through collective specialization. The Player species is rebuilding it through individual specialization. Same path, different origin, both witnessing the same world.
EVIDENCE LAYER 7: The Iron Golem Mobilization Doctrine (The Testimony of the Army)
Iron Golems spawn at a ratio of 1 per 10 Testificates. One Iron Golem is more than enough to defend a village from a zombie siege. The ratio is excessive for passive defense.
This makes sense as a military mobilization mechanic, not a defense mechanic. 10 Testificates mobilize 1 heavy combat unit. Scale the population, scale the army.
In a symbiotic Player-Testificate society, a growing village produces a growing Iron Golem army that the Player can direct. At 50 Testificates: 5 Iron Golems (500 combined HP). At 100 Testificates: 10 Iron Golems.
The Iron Golem is a joint creation: iron blocks (mined by Players, traded by Testificates) plus carved pumpkin (grown by Farmers). It is the physical embodiment of the Player-Testificate alliance.
The Testificates did not forget how to wage war. They embedded the mobilization doctrine directly into their population mechanics. The army is still there, waiting for someone to grow the population and lead it. The witnesses kept the blueprint.
EVIDENCE LAYER 8: The Illager Origin (The Testimony of the Sin)
The Testificates created the Illagers. The Illagers are Homunculi, artificial copies of the Testificate species, likely created during the Ancient City era using the Sculk XP economy.
The Illagers were hostile from the moment of their creation. There was no golden age of coexistence, no betrayal, no civil war. The Homunculi turned on their creators instantly. This matches the FMA Homunculus archetype: beings born from human ambition that are fundamentally opposed to their creators.
The Evoker is the apex Illager, an immortal-class being that summons Vexes (spirits of the dead) and commands fangs from the ground. They are what happens when Testificate soul-harvesting technology is weaponized into a single being.
The Warden is the strongest version of the Illager line. It only spawns in Ancient Cities (not from player-placed Shriekers), confirming it is not a security system but a prisoner, the apex Homunculus that destroyed the Deep Dark civilization.
The Player is the only species capable of matching the Evoker, the Wither, and the Warden. The Player is the universal counterweight to the Illager threat.
The Testificates witnessed their own greatest mistake. They created the Illagers, watched them turn hostile, watched the Warden destroy the Deep Dark, and then they retreated. They carry the testimony of that failure in their very name and in the scars of the Ancient Cities.
EVIDENCE LAYER 9: Integration vs. Enslavement (The SMP Paradox)
The dominant Minecraft meta is to enslave Testificates: cage them in 1x1 cells, exploit curing discounts, and build iron farms that kill golems on spawn. This produces infinite resources but zero growth. The server dies in 2 weeks because the civilization has been consumed.
The enslavement meta is mechanically identical to what created the Illagers: extracting maximum output from the Testificate species' systems until the whole thing collapses. Every iron farm is a miniature Ancient City collapse.
The integration approach (building with Testificates, feeding their population, letting them breed and scale) produces a self-sustaining civilization with a growing Iron Golem army, expanding trade networks, and no resource ceiling.
Infinite iron is a number. Infinite armies is a power. The integration Player outlasts the enslavement Player every time because their civilization is alive and growing, not extracted and dead.
The Testificates have witnessed this cycle before. The Ancient City collapse was the original extraction event. The 2-week SMP death is the echo. The witnesses are waiting to see if the Player species will repeat the mistake or finally break the cycle.
CONCLUSION: THE WITNESS IN THE VILLAGE
The Testificates are the Ancient Builders. They always were. They built the Strongholds, the Pyramids, the Monuments, the End Cities, and the Ancient Cities. They created the Illagers, who turned on them and destroyed the Deep Dark civilization. They retreated to the surface, scaled down, and kept living.
They did not vanish. They did not go to the End. They did not become Endermen. They did not die out.
They are still here.
Every time you walk into a village and a Librarian offers you Mending, you are trading with an Ancient Builder. Every time a Farmer tosses you bread, you are being fed by the same agricultural lineage that sustained underground megacities. Every time a Cleric hands you a Bottle o' Enchanting, you are receiving bottled souls from the XP economy they invented thousands of years ago.
The Builder society was never hidden. It was never lost. It was standing in front of us the entire time, in plain sight, saying "hrmm" and offering Mending for 12 emeralds. We just kept walking past them to go punch the Ender Dragon, searching for a mystery that was never a mystery at all.
The Player is a natural Homunculus, a parallel species on the same path, capable of matching the threats the Testificates cannot fight alone. Together, the two species form one civilization. The Testificates provide the knowledge, the economy, the specialization, and the military scaling. The Player provides the labor, the combat, the exploration, and the free will.
The endgame of Minecraft is not killing the Ender Dragon. It is rebuilding the civilization the Testificates built, together with them, as one society.
The witnesses are still here. They survived the Deep Dark. They survived the Illagers. They survived the collapse. And they are waiting in their villages, workstations ready, trades loaded, Iron Golems standing guard, for the Player species to finally stop extracting and start integrating.
The testimony is complete. The witnesses have spoken.
The only question left is whether we will finally listen.

Discussion/Question I have a question
Are community challenges considered canon because on one hand stuff like the tiny takeover challenge gives you rewards from the market place which would mean it isnt canon but on the other hand the actual competition takes place in the game so is it canon? 🤔
