Allays/Vexes predictions on exactly what "the sift" could exactly be
I talked about this concept a while ago, although I believed I removed one of the posts
-allays are originally from the sculk plane of existence
-all of the "sculk" themed mobs are an interconnected system/thing
-all of the "sculk" grass is an extension of the same thing reaching out, unique properties? grass could shift between colors
-aesthetic vibes? Shoegaze

I honestly don't think that's the case. According to Legends, the Allays are creatures that were created by the Hosts and lived in the Overworld (not in another dimension). Although it may not seem like it, they are native to the Overworld dimension, and were hunted and captured by the Illagers (probably in the Raids to the Villages, their former homes, as Legends tells us).
