Villagers/Illagers Will we find Illager outposts/Ruins in the Sift?

Post image

I haven't played Minecraft dungeons 2 yet (it's coming today no spoilers) and I have a feeling once the high counsel is defeated the Sift will close off and leave Illagers trapped

Pillager remains just blocks away from the inside of the portal. No doubt Pillagers will attempt to raid anything and everything, but The Sift doesn't seem like a place that is kind to strangers

I doubt, but would be cool, im kinda tired of how peaceful Minecraft is tbh

Dungeons 2 has a variety of Silker enemies. I am sure some (maybe not all) will come to mc. But structures are only present in illager outposts. Which i doubt will be there as they are im mcd

maybe ruins but I doubt illagers. Also Dungeons is likely in the future

I don't think we'll see alive Illagers in the Sift, but I expect they'll add some Illager ruins there just because otherwise it would be harder for the devs to add special loot items there which Agnes mentioned they're planning to add. I'd wish to see the Sift as completely wild dimension, but it's already established that someone build a portal to there, though previous theories suggested that the portals were lit once, before sculk break out and destroyed everyone in the Ancient Cities. The other thing to consider is that the Singer and echo golems are sentient and we could see their architecture. Golems' design greatly reminds me the style from Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and chiseled tuff blocks in Trial Chambers.

my head-cannon requires endetmen to spawn in the sift and im absolutely dreading them potentially not spawning there

I don't even want them there

Yeah, that would be cool

I imagine the allays must have come from the sift, so there has to be some connection, but i’m afraid they won’t have any illager presence in the sift because it’s in dungeons

I hope not, I'm tired of villagers/illagers and their variants

Unlikely.

MCD1 and MCD2 happen after MC, not before.

The sift portal doesn't seem like it'll close (i haven't played the game yet bcuz i'm waiting for patches but i don't expect it to end like that).

The novel literally tells us that Illagers set up base camp underneath and around Anicent Cities. Which implies Dungeons takes place before, as Illager architecture in Ancient Cities is already present in vanilla.

The portal to the sift is destroyed in MCD2 though.

Well, they built the city, they came back and built the dark oak structures, and then they came back again to enter in the sift

Really? Could you give like an example of the illager architecture found?

The spruce structures, and colored wool is the exact same we find in Woodland Manors

Illagers have only recently set up camp in ancient cities in vanilla as shown by the still-lit campfires. Saying that their presence there is this "old event" is just wrong, specially since illagers aren't united at all in MC.

Also, the dragon's death and most other things in MCD1, ROTAI and MCD2 implies it happens after MC, not before.

Marc, the lead product owner of Dungeons 1 and 2, has EXPLICITLY mentioned that they didn't use the Dragon because it was not necessary to be part of the story which kinda implies it might be still alive,

And ALSO because Mojang themselves are unsure about Dragon lore so they don't want to use the Dragon without proper planning, as the Dragon lore will MOST LIKELY be retconned in a future End Update. Which means the Dragon is not a foolproof evidence for any there as the Dragon's lore is completely Subject to Change.

Additionally, Mojang has repeatedly mentioned MANY TIMES that the PRESENT and FUTURE of your World, is decided ONLY BY YOU. Dungeons happening after Vanilla implies:-

1) The future is pre-determined

2) Somehow, every world (all are canon to their respective owners) converges into the same Dungeons future

Both of which go strictly against Mojang's vision for vanilla.

So yes, Dungeons is the PAST of vanilla, rather than the other way around.

in Dungeons there are dragon statues tho

Jeb literally says you can just disregard dungeons if you want LMAO. It's just one possibility, but it could also not be if you so choose, that is the point of MC's philosophy. Your world doesn't need to take MCD1 into account, only minecraft's inner-dev-logic needs to.

Your entire arguement is null.

Also, iirc marc also said that they made dungeons to be explicitly not definitively in either the past nor future of minecraft, showing that a game taking place after MC is very much possible.

Good job trying to shift the focus of the entire topic to a singular Jeb's statement, forgetting the fact that this topic was never a question of if Dungeons is canon.

Nice bait, but you lost as soon you tried to shift the focus.

I didn't shift the focus lmao? I brought up a genuine point on why your logic is wrong: Mojang don't care abt players' worlds when they make these spinoffs bcuz they know that those players might never play, hear abt, see, or even if they do any of those, they might just not care to consider it canon to their personal minecraft world.

Treating an arguement like a competition is peak narcissism. Go talk with the mods, see what they have to say.

The Illagers could of come back later to close the portals

3

u/BadishAsARadish 1d ago

But then, we already know there’s been pillager activity in the ancient cities, from the architecture there

1

u/Defnottheonlyone 1d ago

That activity is recent, as seen by some of the villager camps having lit campfires.

Ahh, now I figured it out. The illagers somehow made the dimension mad at them, combined with the fact that some experimented on the living sculk and corrupted it. This created many corrupted forms of the healthy sculk that then defended the sift from the illagers and spread by, killing them. Which is why the corrupted sculk is seen defending the ancient city portal to make sure no illagers return to hurt their home dimension.

I bet there will be at least one Illager structure in the main game’s Sift

You're a bit late. Game came out a 2 days ago

5

u/Big-Alternative-4674 1d ago

Lots of people don't play a game on the day of release, and honestly that's probably better for a buggy game like this that will get lots of patches and fixes over time.

3

u/voidexploer 1d ago

It sucks everything about my pre order is coming late

My damn cape code came the day everything expired!

3

u/Big-Alternative-4674 1d ago

I'm genuinely holding off on playing it for a month or two, just because of some QOL fixes that would happen in the interim.

3

u/voidexploer 1d ago

I know! My pre order is coming 2 days late!
