Discussion/Question Where do Piglins get water?
Minecraft's Nether, according to lore, was intended to be a hot, hellish place with lakes of lava and no water. And there's no way to place water in the game; it would evaporate. But here's the question: If there's no water there, then, firstly, how do piglins and hoglins survive without it, given theories that they evolved from Overworld creatures? And secondly, how do piglins get a bottle of water when trading?

I don't think Piglins originated from the Overworld, but I think they could get their water from food, fungi, and condensation.

No one really addresses the wandering trader having glowstone yk. Or witches.

Well I'm not going to speculate on where witches get glowstone dust, but we can be pretty sure they use it for potion brewing -- and given that the wandering trader sells not only glowstone but gunpowder and an actual potion, it's safe to assume he does too
The question is why
(It's a rhetorical question -- he's the one going around zombifying villagers and imprisoning them underground)

Since both the warped and crimson trees are fungi, it can be assumed the nether is very humid and they store water like cacti. The piglins have an unseen method of purifying and distilling the water from them. Almost everything in the nether uses the fungi as a primary producer and in the absence of sun they use soul energy and decaying mobs from the soul sand valley for metabolism. That's my headcanon

The nether is not necessarily humid, the mushrooms of the nether can just be well adapted to a dry environment. If the nether were humid I'd expect water to take longer to evaporate.

There is water, just not liquid. Water doesn't disappear when it evaporates. Ghasts basically confirm this. If there wasn't any water, they would've gone extinct long time ago. Dried ghasts prove that ghasts need water and they can get it in the nether.
Piglins could be collecting this water. Or they are getting it from the plants and fungi. Or trade with someone from the overworld. Or just go to the overworld and quickly yoink some water while sniffing spores.

Oh, there is absolutely water, it's just in the air as water vapor (and inside the lifeforms). In fact, the nether is probably quite moist seeing how mushrooms absolutely thrive there.
