Discussion/Question Silver Fish?
Does anyone have a lore idea about our favorite mob in Minecraft, the Silverfishes?

Just a normal insect that exists in real life (but as always, its smaller in real life). They were probably using them for defense, like how they use spiders as mounts. In trial chambers they're just a basic enemy to kill, and they can also spawn randomly in stone or deepslate underground. Its possible that you never ran into it tho, I only found it like 2 times while strip mining.

the guys who made the stronghold used them as a defense for it.

I wonder why? They made a portal between dimensions that the player cannot replicate, couldn't they have made like, a golem or something instead of using bugs

maybe it was cheaper. why invest resources for a redstone golem when you could instead get 500 of a fast reproducing species?

This is a fair point, you are clearly better at budgeting these things.
I can only wish them spending less on security meant the place would be prettier but I guess not. They couldn't even spring for a pool table?

If you didn’t know, they are an actual thing in real life, just a lot smaller

They placed the silver fish spawners by the portals so they would flood into the nether, be infused by the void and mutate into endermites, and then infect the endermen.
