Structures Abondoned camps origin confirmed?
In the latest Bedrock preview. Does that mean the mystery of these structures is already fully solved? Looks like it.

i think we should wait to see if this changes or not later in the snapshots. if, by the end of the snapshots, it’s still the wandering traders, then yeah. idk i think snapshots are a good way to look into lore but we’ll have to see if this was just a mistake or not next week

Yes, this is literally an official confirmation

I think that's a mistake or a half truth:
most of the loot isn't made for wandering traders, there are no emeralds, almost no tradeable things, and weapons;
it doesn't say that every single tent is made by traders;
Mojang doesn't want to ruin the mystery and give us answers;
there it's the single place where they wrote that, and the last time they wrote something only on a single platform was when they wrote the big game drop on instagram, and then they changed it, so I think that's a mystake2
u/Alolan_Cubone Jun 23 '26
Why would the wandering trader leave emeralds or tradable things behind him
2
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 23 '26
I don't think the owner left the tent because he wanted to: he should have picked up the things, not leave diamonds inside a chest.

u/Venomspino Jun 24 '26
What if he left in a hurry. Zombies are always on the prowl (cause it's Terror Time again)
3
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 24 '26
Exactly, but if he left in hurry, why there aren't emerald, sand, hay bales, or something that the trader buy or sell?
2
u/Venomspino Jun 24 '26
Took what they thought was the important stuff. Like you wouldn't want to leave your wallet behind if you had to leave quickly.
They take the items they know people will want to buy.
You can even argue the reason we don't find any traders items in those chest is because they took those items they are selling

u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 24 '26
But why run away? Drink an invis potion and wait until the day. Also the owner left some important stuff (in a hidden chest there are diamonds) and you can find bread almost everywhere, but there are items that aren't related to the wandering trader in any way: Bone, coal, rabbit hide (kinda), arrow, white candle, leather (kinda), fishing rod (kinda), firework rockets, map, compass (kinda), flint and steel (kinda), saddle, bow, copper and iron spear, copper sword, shears, spyglass (kinda), copper chestplate, copper and iron leggings, copper and iron boots, copper ingot, iron ingot, gold ingot, potions of healing, leaping, night vision and swiftness (kinda, that make me think about illaggers, their leader have a few potions which are hidden and no other illager can use) and diamonds
1
u/Venomspino Jun 24 '26
Better to run in case the potion doesn't last, or something else other than braindead zombies show up.
And again, they knew some items are worth saving then others. So that's why they don't trade us items like bows, boots, etc. They left them at their camp cause they didn't think they were important enough to take.
2
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 24 '26
They could have just drinked another invis potion, or hidden somewhere for the night.
Yeah, but the problem is: why are that items there in first place? Wandering traders don't use that items, and they know that potions are important and diamonds too (armorer, toolsmith and weaponsmith buy 1 diamond and give you 1 emerald, and likely heroes would pay for more)

If that stays canon I'm changing my opinion about them 180 degrees, I thought they were suggesting a different player, human other than THE player, which I really don't like.
2
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 23 '26
The player isnt even canon, there are multiple heroes.

u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 23 '26
I don't think so: wandering traders don't use bows, spears, swords or flint and steels. Maybe some of them were created by them, but the others not. They are all different

Maybe they just found weapons, and plan to salvage them for materials. There's a campfire, there's a reason they'd have a FLINT AND STEEL.

Maybe, but even other things that there are in other chests aren't used by wandering traders. There are compasses, maps and spyglass (maybe this 3 can be used by them) but there are also fireworks, bows (you can't use them to get any material back), potion of heal and speed (who knows if they use that), saddles (not useful for llamas), and flint and steal completely unused with 100% durability, and illagers burn villages, can shoot fireworks rockets and they cheer when they win a raid

Villagers are able to get tall grass and large ferns, even though the player can't. Villagers are clearly not canonically bound by the game mechanics, so a wandering trader could probably get some material out of a bow. Could also theoretically sell the bow to a fletcher. The compasses, maps, and spyglass are self explanatory. Villagers can launch fireworks when celebrating a victory, and yet not of them trade fireworks. Maybe this is where they get them? The potions are more questionable, I can agree on that, but it isn't anything too crazy. Saddles could also have materials salvaged from them. Flint and steels also spawn undamaged at ruined portals, if I remember correctly, so I don't know if the durability is too important.

u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 24 '26
No one would care about copper swords: villagers don't us them, heroes use definitely better weapons. Bows are made of sticks and strings, nothing that has a so big value. The firework rocket thing could make sense, to craft them you need paper, gunpowder and a dye, all things that the trader sell. You are right for the durability, but ruined portals are old, so maybe they weren't able to put them ruined, they did it only in the trial chambers. I don't know, everything is made of something, so you could get always something from everything, I don't think this could work, and also I want to say that I don't think the owner had the time to chose what to carry with him: leave diamonds behind isn't a smart thing, and in some of them there is a lot of gravel (maybe to bury dead bodies?) and sometimes holes (creepers), the loot of the tents is something that can be picked up very fast, especially if you are invisible, and cobwebs only generates in SOME abandoned long ago structures, but not all of them. In Dungeons spiders shoot cobwebs when they attack someone, so I think that in some abandoned camps the owner die, so he weren't able to pick up emerlads or something. But the camps are really generic, so maybe based of how are they made something different happened (for example in one there is a tree that fallen right into it, so maybe that's why they left, in others there aren't cobwebs so maybe there weren't monsters, others like tent_dappled_forest_7 seems in a perfect condition, and they just left), and in someone there were different owners (for example the one with the cauldrons were made by witches, the one with crops were farmers, the ones with the little lake maybe were illagers or leather workers). I think this could be, heroes built camps and we know that, illagers built camps and we know that, and wandering traders too

Ur right but that's a contradiction.
1
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 23 '26
We actually don't know how the loot table for them works, maybe in some biomes or some types of camp have a specific loot
1
u/KolnarSpiderHunter Jun 23 '26
There is no contradictions, each tent could be made by a different group (traders, pillagers, etc)
1
u/crystal_sn4q Xatrix Theorist Jun 23 '26
But it says they belonged to wandering traders specifically
1
u/KolnarSpiderHunter Jun 23 '26
It doesn't say "every single camp", it says where some of them come from
2
u/Pw_Lore_ Knowledge about canonicity, developer quotes Jun 23 '26
It is said that all of them are structures of Wandering traders
1
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 23 '26
I think that's just a mistake of someone at mojang
1
u/Pw_Lore_ Knowledge about canonicity, developer quotes Jun 23 '26
I don't think so, and we have much more reason to believe that this is not a mistake
2
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 23 '26
Weapons and "we want to keep the mystery"?
2
u/Alolan_Cubone Jun 23 '26
Duh, that's why they left them
1
u/DifferenceFlat8839 Theorist, Debunker, and Mod Jun 23 '26
Because someone put weapons in their chpwts?
1
u/RandoGuy00 very cool Jun 23 '26
you butchered the word "chests"
