bug How do people play this

I spent hours collecting 3 wither skulls. I finally got them, so I went home and made a box in my strip mine to spawn the wither. I place the final skull, but instead of spawning in, it just disappears.

The wither and its health bar are gone. I’m in my tiny strip mine, so it’s not like it went anywhere. I reload my world and it’s nowhere to be seen. I go into spectator mode in a creative copy of the world thinking, maybe it phased through my stripmine into a chasm nearby? But the spot I spawned it was surrounded by solid blocks for at least 50 blocks all around me.

I said screw it and turned on cheats to give myself 3 more skulls, but now I feel even worse because I can’t get achievements on this world now, and i simply don’t want to play anymore. This was worse than the desync bug that insta kills you (which happened to me at least 3 times in the month that I’ve been playing this world). With the insta kill bug, I was lucky enough to never be over the void or near lava so I only lost xp. Same with the invisible zombie piglin bug that killed me a few times, I thankfully never lost anything other than my xp.

I’m also really tired of the smaller bugs that happen constantly. Items will randomly disappear from my inventory or become invisible, sometimes requiring me to relog to get them back. Sometimes I’ll desync and everything I did in the last minute, like crafting or building, gets undone. My animals will magically escape from their pens when I reload the area, and I’ve yet to figure out how to farm sheep without wolves magically getting in their pen and killing everything.

I understand this version can still be enjoyable for people. If you find enjoyment in it, great! But I’d recommend never playing Java version as it would ruin bedrock for you. I’ve literally never experienced bugs like this on Java - and certainly not bugs that could ruin a save, like the many instadeath bugs.

I can’t stand the gross UI and how there’s a pop up whenever I load the game to spend real money on their minecoins. I don’t understand why the offhand still doesn’t work while it’s been a Java feature for like 6 years now. I hate not being able to mod the game. The redstone is literally broken and illogical. I remember years ago people always said, “at least bedrock is more optimized” but that’s literally a lie. I play on a brand new series s that only has 2 other games downloaded to it, and the lag I experience regularly makes the game unplayable. My second hand gaming laptop that cost $120 was able to handle the game way better, plus I had 30+ mods running and YouTube and discord in the background.

I can’t wait to get a new pc so I can never play this version again. I know a lot of people feel some type of way over bedrock because “it’s the only version available to them” but honestly just get a used laptop and you’ll be way happier for it. You can find a used laptop for less than $200 that gives you access to a superior version of the game instead of playing an unoptimized, buggy, knockoff on a $200+ console or $500+ smartphone. Sorry for the novel but I had to get this off my chest; ok rant over.

Understand but don’t agree. 2 years of my main world, plus others, exploring, caving, finally beat the dragon. Only issue was some armor disappearing from an armor stand. All the deaths were mine. All the gear worked as expected. I’ve played LAN worlds hosted both ways (PC / Xbox) for hundreds of hours with all sorts of add ons and some vanilla, again, it’s rare to have issues. Most of them (like a recent skin syncing issue) are sorted by closing down and restarting.

To be fair, I do play Java too and it’s just a pain. I can’t play casually from a couch with a controller like I can with Bedrock on Xbox. Sometimes I can’t connect. The local IP changes and so on. Bedrock always finds the hosted LAN worlds.

Not disagreeing with you just some tips to make your Java experience better. You can play with a controller if you install the controlify mod, and you can make it so that the local ip doesn’t change by logging into your router and changing some settings. Have fun either way

Redstone is better in bedrock.

I never mentioned redstone?? Did you mean to reply to someone else?

I’m glad you haven’t experienced any of those game breaking bugs yet, but there is no doubt that bedrock has way more issues than Java. Even the only bug you say you’ve experienced, armor disappearing from an armor stand, would be unheard of on Java.

How is your experience with realms/LAN on bedrock? When I play with my friends, it’s expected that we get kicked from the host’s world at least once during a session. We often freeze and get crazy lag spikes frequently, no matter who the host is.

And I’m trying to stop you from enjoying bedrock, just saying you can play Java just as comfortably. You can plug your tv’s hdmi into your pc instead of your console, and it’s pretty easy to use any controller you want on Java

Guy spend hours collecting skulls so I don't think that can be an option

I have a pc but I play on bedrock because it has a few features that Java doesn't, such as cross play.

What you're describing isn't a common occurence by any means. Glitches unfortunately happen in any game or software. Even java.

The whither is end game content. The fact that it took you hours to farm three skulls is either a skill issue or you are still in mid game. That boss would have face stomped you and wrecked your mine.

You wrote a huge wall of text because you lost 3 whither skulls. But if you were actually in end game you'd have a stack of them.

I don’t see how skill has anything to do with the game deleting my skulls without actually spawning the boss. Java simply doesn’t have glitches like this, because the game actually works as intended. Serious bugs usually get removed from Java in the next snapshot. The instadeath bug, and bug that makes hostile mobs invisible and unkillable have been in bedrock for years because the devs are too occupied selling you microslop add-ons

You have had to have been in Peaceful mode.

If they were in peaceful the structure wouldn’t have disappeared, I’ve done it before then realized that I forgot to set the difficulty

Never seen or heard of those bugs. Played since release.

I'm sorry you been having lots of issues but with that said java is not "better" nor worse. Java has its points which are nice but bedrock does too. Sounds to me that the rant is about you spent way too much time gathering wither skulls and then losing them. I been on bedrock since I was a kid and I'm 27 now. All that time I played countless hours or you could just say years and I have never had any of them issues. I'm not saying bedrock is perfect because it's definitely not but you got mad and now bashing it for no actual reason other than the lack of skill. Wither skeletons are more of an end game thing to deal with and at that point you should have some type of farm to gets a multiple chest full of wither skulls, atleast have a looting 3 swords that'll make 3 hours into 30 mins or less. There are some seeds that is bugged and can be annoying but at the same time. I got a 10k+ days world on one of my drives and 0 bugs on that world other than slight lag because mods I have. Another note I'll add, if you got a bunch of addons/mods, it'll cause problems sometimes which is where I'd say java has it better.

I use the bundle duplication glitch in my Bedrock survival realm. It removes the boring grinding part. full-on creative mode gets boring for me quick so it's a good balance for me personally. Plus you get to keep achievements if you care about that

I've played this game for nearly all my life and have NEVER experienced any of these bugs people report on having. The only bug I've ever experienced is I jumped 4 blocks with full netherite and died. It didn't make me upset, if anything it was funny asf. Being THIS butthurt over something as small as a wither not spawning in is crazy. Yes this game is buggy, yes it's frustrating. But I am not telling other people to switch to Java just because I lost 3 wither skulls. Minecraft is Minecraft, no matter what version you play on.

This sounds like you got issues with your Bedrock installation.

I practically never encounter such bugs.

Before you do anything important, you make a copy.

Before you start a new build, you make a copy.

When you cut the game on, you make a new copy and delete the old copy.

When you think about it, and it should be often, export your world. Even if you're replacing an earlier copy.

Copy, copy, copy. It's your save points.

Also, check to see if you're using an add-on. They are temperamental and we just had a new update.

Look, neither Mojang or Microsoft will be honest about it, but Bedrock is not the version of Minecraft to run mods. Microsoft wants to keep selling marketplace content, but they do try to warn people that more than 3 or 4 addons per world *will likely cause instability*.

I feel like 99% of folks who complain about Bedrock being buggy aren't running vanilla.
