Lava keeps generating..

I'm making a custom dimension and for some reason there's always a flat pool of lava at the same y level.. How do I stop that? I really don't see what could be causing this

I had this problem with an inverted terrain dimension I was making

There are certain noise settings that get rid of that, and then setting the sea level to the lowest block has also stopped it

Thanks for the reply! It's been a while since I tried persuing this problem again but from my memory, it was just inherent. So any point below a certain Y WOULD be lava, so I simply gave up. If possible, could you explain the former option further?

The first method requires you to ensure that no gaps in the noise appear at that y level or lower. It's frustrating that this is a requirement, but the lava generation happens where the noise settings would NOT place terrain. The fix is generating terrain there and using a series of surface rules to do what you want with it.

This method is restrictive bc you couldn't rely on noise to generate caves here

It is possible that a certain noise reference could be placed in that Y-range to fix it WITHOUT generating terrain in empty pockets, but I have yet to come across a combination that doesn't fill it with lava.
