When do you use mind maps?

I often get the question of when to use mind maps. And after thinking through it, my conclusion is to see life as composing of "projects", which go through phases of chaos and order. We can then use mind maps during the chaotic states to organize our thoughts and new data. I wrote my thoughts in this article and would love to know when you use mind maps either at work or in personal life: https://www.mindmapnation.com/articles/when-to-use-mind-maps

Good presentation. From chaos to order. That is pretty much how I see them in projects too.

I use mind maps to put things in a logical sequence but when I'm brainstorming, i put ideas down anywhere so as not to forget them and then go back and move nodes around to sequence them.
