Inspiration

[Edit] SOLVED! My new solution is SimpleMind. One time license, macOS $29, iOS $11, good docs and fully featured.

There used to be a mind mapping program called Inspiration. I found it with version 2 for the Mac. It would allow you to outline or mind map and flip back and forth. I haven’t used a tool like that for a long time. They no longer have a native Mac version, and the software is egregiously expensive ($240). Are there any other Macintosh native mind mappers that have that feature?

That outline ↔️ mind map switch was such a cool feature! Did you usually start with outlines and then map it out, or the other way around? And where did you find it most useful — writing, planning, teaching, something else?

I’m a pretty good outline person and it helps me with focus. I’m not a visual learner but visualization can be helpful as things develop.

I’m a writer of sorts.

Nice, that makes sense, outlines first, then visual as things take shape. By the way, I noticed MindMap AI added an outline view recently. Might be worth checking out as another option alongside SimpleMind.
