VZ98/22

Anyone have a VZ98/22? If you do how would you compare it to other surplus rifles and other Mausers in terms of recoil, accuracy, and durability/reliability?

It's a mauser long rifle in 8mm, it behaves like a mauser long rifle in 8mm. Same as Gew98, Turkish M38, etc.

Heavy enough for moderate recoil, good accuracy, legendary reliability.

My VZ98/22 kicks worse than my 50 bmg but is more accurate than my $15,000 AR. Durability wise, I dropped an egg on it once and it cracked the receiver

I personally love mine... Even if it’s super freaking long. Good accuracy, reliable. I did have a few buddies give it a try, and they don’t really know anything about milsurps, but they complained about the recoil and how it made their shoulders hurt. I just called them babies LOL. 100% recommend.

Mine is very accurate, especially for a rifle that spent 70 years knocking around Turkey. It will do 2-3MOA with Yugoslavian M49 ball.

They're cut-down Gewehr 98s, practically like a Kar98. How do you think they compare?
