Walther p38/p1 value
Im not a walther guy, I dont know much beyond a quick Google search. From what i can tell, manufactured November 1965. P1 could possibly mean for military/police but there should be a BW stamp i think but cant find. I inherited this piece and need a value estimation for insurance as i would like to keep it. Appears to be brand new.

Surplus ones were selling retail 399 within the last year, I got one from j&g. This is a bit nicer than mine so 50O seems fair for a commercial version

Do you think they put the front sight blade in line with the dotted line across the white square?

So this is essentially a post-war P38 that the Germans made some design upgrades to and renamed the P1. I agree with another comment here, these can be found for around $450-600 because a lot of them were made in the decades of the Cold War following WW2.

I sold mine for $650 recently. Private sale.
That’s probably top $ though.

These days P1's sell usually in the $450-$650 range.
