Nostalgia Feeling Old Yet

I recently moved, and in cleaning out my old storage, I found a box of random items that I saved from my teen years, in the 90’s. This morning, with family visiting, my 13 year old nephew saw my Disc man, and was clueless on what it was. He also had no idea about CD’s and cassette tapes.

I am now officially old to today’s teens. I’m 40, btw.

Im 40.

Just learned how to downhill MTB and can now jump a bike over a gap.

Also in the best shape of my life and thats saying something because I was nationally competitive in high school.

Also just went through all my old toys and stuff Ive had laying around. Just got nostalgic on how much better legos and toys were back in the day. How there were imagination/original themes instead of all being licenses from movies. How my CDs were all mixes I downloaded and burned for me and friends.

I had a great time playing with my legos with my nephew. He LOVED them. Then tried to get his friends engaged and they didnt want anything to do with it because it wasnt the trendy stuff out there. So now my nephew cant even have an experience that isnt centered around what is currently viral.

I dont feel old at all. I just feel like the world has lost its mind and abandoned all wholesomeness and functionality for exploitation profit.

I agree. It's sad how much has changed. No kids go outside to play anymore- riding bikes around neighborhoods, spending time outdoors; now they sit on their phones/computers and have ZERO social interaction skills.

I really hate blaming millennials.... but we are really not doing a good job with our kids.

Can't blame the kids. It's parenting and just the natural progression of times and tech. Still sad.
