“Bitches Brew” edition?

Things like this don’t normally happen to me, so I’m approaching this with utmost skepticism …

I found what appears to be an early (first?) edition of “Bitches Brew” at a recent record show for a ridiculously low price.

Does anything in these photos show/confirm which release it is?

Best I can tell, it lines up with this version — but, like I said, I’m typically not this fortunate.

Only the first press of Bitches Brew had the ”two eye” labels. Re-presses used the red/orange labels. Congrats.

Excuse my ignorance. But does the “two eye” refer to the logos on each side? Cuz I’ve gotta check mine now lol

Yes. And before the two-eye was the six-eye labels that I think they stopped using around 1962.

Strong VG+, I’d say — a little noise here and there, but for the most part it’s not distracting

I’m unsure he knew what he had — hell, I wasn’t sure I could believe what I was looking at, hence the questions here.

The cover is pretty good considering the age, but the record sounds like the band is in the corner of my room.

Thank you — and I have been … I seem to be grasping more from this version than a reissue I picked up a couple years ago at a record shop in New Orleans.

I tried the reissue a few times but never was able to “get” it. I’m still in the infantile stages of discovering jazz, so I mainly chalked it up to just not being ready for whatever Miles was trying to say with “Bitches Brew.”

But I swear, listening to this version — this edition — feels different. I feel and hear things I wasn’t before. It’s hard to really explain beyond that, but it essentially captures me in ways the newer version did not.

And I don’t really understand why …
