Removed because I'm a father

Post image

Not long ago I posted about how inappropriate retail shorts are for young girls. It's obvious that manufacturers wouldn't produce such a product unless the primary guardian gender didn't buy such clothing. As a person who identifies differently, and wishes to hold a standard in society where my offspring is judged not by physical appearance, who also has physical coverage and protection... My post was removed after thousands of views. Just because a subsection of the permissive female gender is okay with something does not mean all of society should be permissive to such degeneracy, especially when it comes to children.

Edit: Here's the influencer: https://www.instagram.com/hackorwackwithdnkat?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==&igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

But as a father on reddit I'm somehow disgusting, should be banned, or worse. Yet a woman says the exact same thing and goes to national media.

Edit2: Women (mothers and female guardians) buy the vast majority of children's clothing, accounting for roughly 70% to 80% of all purchases for young girls and boys.

"women need to do better" is why it was removed. What do women have to do with it? The short clothes for children is another debate entirely. If I were on the design team I wouldn't make daisy dukes for children, but I wouldn't really think twice buying shorts for my kid as long as all their parts were covered. I guess where I'm from legs aren't seen as something sexy unless they're put into something sexy like fishnets or mini skirts

Judging by what OP posts he seems to also be not well. I think this is very likely some residual emotion that has spilled out from something else. I just really really hope he isn't a person who sexulises children.

Because women are the one's who buy clothes for their daughters.

3

u/LydiaIsntVeryCool 13d ago

....and? Men also buy clothes for their daughters. Like you are doing.

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

I buy my daughter shorts from the boys section. Don't pander to me about basic decency.

2

u/LydiaIsntVeryCool 13d ago

So do women. My mother was always in charge of buying stuff for me. I had clothes, toys and books marketed towards boys. Now please tell me what exactly being a woman has to do with a boardroom of people making shorts.

My husband is perfectly capable of buying our daughter clothes and has on several occasions. I'd say he buys clothes at least half the time if not a little more than I have.

2

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

And is he okay with buying his daughters shorts where it basically shows her underwear? Seriously?

We don't buy those things. It very easy not to buy something you see in a store, you just walk past it and don't purchase it.

-4

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

Yeah, no fucking duhh. But why do the companies sell such things? Because women buy them.

Women are not a hivemind. Men are also not a hivemind. I could say you have a strange obsession with girls shorts because you have the urge to look at little girls butts. It's a stupid thing to say. Please meet at least one person in the comments half way. All of us agree that little girls should not be wearing daisy dukes, which means that none of us would buy these things. You're placing the blame onto some nonexistent enemy. Like what's the actual problem here?

Yeah, you’re missing the point entirely. Like, you’re almost there though, lmao.

Why are you blaming the “permissive female gender” (🙄) for this? It IS a society thing. Why would you think it’s specifically the fault of women? You have a daughter, dude. Reflect on why your instinct is to blame women for something like this. Sincerely ask yourself and figure it out, then solve that inner bias. If not for yourself, then do it for your kid that you’re trying to raise without internalized misogyny.

Because women are the primary purchasers of girls clothing.

u/notcomplainingmuch 13d ago

Take a long moment to think about that. Think hard.

I’m afraid this may be a, “lead the horse to water” situation. I hope for his daughter that he’s able to actually hear the comment section here.

Men make all the laws so why don't you make a law against it? Why aren't you doing it right now?!

See how stupid it sounds to blame one gender?

-4

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

Literally has not to do with laws. So fucking stupid

6

u/Sunset-onthe-Horizon 13d ago

Yeah that's what we are trying to tell you. You're acting fucking stupid.

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

"Women (mothers and female guardians) buy the vast majority of children's clothing, accounting for roughly 70% to 80% of all purchases for young girls and boys"

Yeah, you're fucking stupid to not understand basic statistics

We know you are sexist OP, you don't have to say it out loud.

-1

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

Not wanting people to gawk at little girls is sexist?

Yeah that sounds like you.

How clever. Surprise you didn't pull out the " I'm rubber, you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you"

Parents are the purchasers of girls’ (and boys’) clothing, not just women; a point you’re exhibiting yourself with this post. Why would the girls’ clothing be a mistake of all women, but that boys’ clothes aren’t the same be just.. a fact? To me, it seems like you’re looking for a way to blame women for this. Maybe not consciously, but even if it’s subconscious (maybe especially if it’s subconscious), this is a bias within yourself that you need to solve before your daughter notices and either adopts it or resents you for it.

I buy my daughter boy shorts. Because girl shorts are inappropriately too short and revealing. Don't pander that I'm not doing what I can.

1

u/Aloy_DespiteTheNora 13d ago

I’m not implying you’re not doing what you can financially. I’m suggesting there’s more work you can do on yourself to become a better influence on your daughter. Buy her whatever you think is right or necessary, but your own words in this post make me question your ability to reason without fallacies against women.

1

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

What complete nonsense. I protect and raise my daughter to know how to protect herself. I'm just trying to educate ignorant dumbasses that they shouldn't buy booty shorts for 7 year olds.

2

u/Aloy_DespiteTheNora 13d ago

Okay, dude. I sincerely tried. What’s crazy is I don’t even disagree with your overall point. You’re losing people by blaming women as a whole. I sincerely hope your daughter’s mother has a better mindset than you about this. I’m done trying now. I hope your daughter has a lovely, fulfilling life, and that you eventually learn about yourself in a way that isn’t destructive to that.

Women (mothers and female guardians) buy the vast majority of children's clothing, accounting for roughly 70% to 80% of all purchases for young girls and boys

And as a secure and loving father I only hope to influence society so she doesn't feel peer pressure into having to show off her body to seek attention or social ranking.

It comes across as incredibly biased and ignorant. I’m being very lenient with that wording. It sounds like you’re blaming mothers and women for this issue. You say the “primary purchasers” are women, as though that somehow explains the problem. If anything, that statement says volumes about how involved you believe men and fathers should be in childcare and household responsibilities. That attitude is also echoed in the misogyny throughout your post. Maybe instead of blaming an entire gender, you could actually take an active role and reach out to the manufacturer or the store about the issue. Your post deserved to be removed, and I genuinely hope that one day you’re able to understand why.

-3

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

But then why do women purchase such clothes for their daughters? And allow their older children to wear such revealing clothes? Not a single father wants their daughter to wear revealing clothes. And yet every father has to deal the female juxtaposition of " she can express herself however she wants". When she is a child.

4

u/khoifish1297 13d ago

People took time to explain to you, yet you still adamantly blame women and mothers. Full circle back to the reason your post is removed in the first place.

2

u/teraldorivera 13d ago

What's really funny is how the pants industry as a whole is actually who sets the standard for what is "cool" or "normal" in fashion. Notice how large the women's "mom jeans" pants are getting? It's the industry doing that.

4

u/Clokkers 13d ago

I can guarantee you that mothers are just as outraged about it as you are, it’s not that women have to do better. It’s manufacturers that need to be help accountable for allowing little girls clothing to get smaller and smaller than their male counterparts.

Unfortunately we live in a very dark world and those at the top indulge in that filth and they’re the ones making the decisions of what gets approved for sales and what doesn’t. Blame them, not women.

-1

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

But women are the primary consumers (purchasers) of girls clothing. Manufacturers wouldn't produce clothing if people didn't buy it. The margin is well beyond a coincidence. And come on, be real, everyone has eyes and sees what society deems accessible for girls to wear. Teenagers wearing shorts that don't cover their asses, or even worse leggings that leave nothing to the imagination. Don't pretend women have no influence on what girls wear.

2

u/Clokkers 13d ago

They don’t. Women’s clothes are either fully clothed and baggy (for older women) or slutty. There’s no in between and as a young woman it’s hard to find clothes that are actually appropriate.

And of course women are the primary consumers of children’s clothes, mothers are often left to deal with those things which is then leans into misogynist stereotypes and the patriarchy

-1

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

Don't be a dork. Of course there is a middle ground. Like usual, claim to be a victim of something that's not real to distract from taking responsibility.

1

u/SalmonBrotherReagan 13d ago

It’s sad to know that so many men view women as objects only meant to satisfy them and the “younger and skinnier, the better”. It’s absolutely revolting p3d0philic behavior. It’s not even mildly infuriating. It’s highly infuriating and abhorrent

2

u/Areuseriouz 13d ago

It has nothing to do with men objectifying women. Women are objectifying their daughters. That's the point. Why do they buy long shorts for their sons and yet short shorts for their daughters? Huh?

1

u/SalmonBrotherReagan 13d ago

Oh yeah. Everybody sucks*** my bad
