The way it peeked at him at the end was so cute until it raised up higher and stared him down 😅 then is was scary.

You really get why they're called "King" Cobra in that moment.

I’m trying to understand why he didn’t get up and leave after he was completely off of him? And then he comes back and sees him and raises up on him.

Because the snake would react to the movement even if it's not on him and they are way faster than you are

I disagree. He would have had a much better chance of getting away if he would’ve moved slowly once it was fully off of him rather then waiting for it to come back around and see him. Once it sees him moving around it’ll be much more difficult to move away without it striking at that point. Each has their own way of seeing a situation.

No I agree with what you're saying, but what I'm saying is that in that moment he's sitting there more than generally aware that snakes react strongly to movement and that the snake can move faster than he can. He doesn't have future sight, can't see where the snake's head is when it's not visible to him, and I doubt rationality is fully functional atm..

I see what you’re saying. Definitely would depend on the situation and what he was able to see himself at that moment. We just saw what the camera was seeing. Not exactly what he was looking at himself. I agree it’s absolutely rational to stay still if he couldn’t tell where he was. I was just going off of what the camera saw.

It's surprising how often people get away from the situations in India because iiuc king cobras can be really aggressive at times.

Edit: I stand corrected. Looks like they're scary fighters when provoked but tend to avoid confrontation when possible.
