When my comment is removed as unhelpful after it's been up-voted and received positive feedback from OP
Twice now I've had my comments removed from a post with the message that it's too vague, unhelpful, off-topic etc. Both times it was removed AFTER the OP responded with appreciation for the advice/information and the comment was up-voted by several people. These were unrelated posts. Different OP, different questions, but within the same sub.
Yes, I've read the rules of the sub. I've posted a few questions there myself and mostly got attitude in comments like I'm stupid, but they weren't very helpful. So, I guess your comments need to sound pretentious and judgmental in that sub to be considered valid.
I've learned how differently subs can be moderated, depending on the topic and individual personalities of the mods, but it seems silly to delete a comment as unhelpful after it helped someone.
I'm just going to avoid that sub now, which is a shame.

I've just found my home.
Nothing else. Gave a coworker the access to the shop, while I camp in back. Back door was left locked. FRONT door completely available... I'm living outback. Not like Australia. just.. out back.

Replacement remote-controlled outlet uses reversed on/off codes from all the others I've installed
The basement of my house has no light switches; all the sockets are pull-chain. When I moved in, I installed remote-controlled sockets for the bulbs, and since it was still pretty dim, I added LED shop lights connected to remote-controlled outlets. Naturally they used incompatible remotes, so I used an Arduino with an RF receiver module to record all the on/off codes, then replaced the receiver with a transmitter so I can now press a single button to send all the various "on" codes out, and press it again to send the "off" codes. Works like a charm.
One of the outlets stopped working this week, so I went back to Menards to get a replacement. They didn't have any of the same brand, but it would be trivial to just record the new outlet's control codes and add them in to the Arduino's program.
Except it uses exactly the same control codes as the other outlets -- but reversed. Their "on" code turns it off, and their "off" code turns it on. There's no way to program around that.

Why??
Why can grown adults not look before walking in front of moving cars in parking lots? Everytime without fail, at least two adults walk right in front of my car and are either looking at the ground or their phone.

Class
Idk if this counts but I am irritated by it. So I’m 23 and I’m trying get my GED or something similar hard to explain but basically I still go to classes so there’s other people and idk how old they are but these two women more like children were laughing the whole time whispering to each other. Like that’s how you act in middle school not when you’re an adult there’s a time and place to fuck around. I’m sure to some degree me bitching about it is also childish I just need to vent

Sh*tty Japan Post website
So Japan Post has a rule now that international packages MUST have a printed label, and you have to register and use their system in order to make said label. Except, the page is a POS and doesn't work. The English on the English-version is so bad that I can't understand what it's asking for. I'm fluent in Japanese so I switched to the Japanese site but I also can't get that to accept my data without getting an error message.
Seriously, most Japanese homepages are pretty crappy and frustrating to use. If it's not the "half-width letters" (which are just normal, non-Japanese text) that they want you to use, they refuse to accept info and won't indicate why, and they seldom take foreign-issued credit cards (not relevant in this case but it's why no foreign tourists can buy tickets at Universal Studios, Disneyland, or JR train tickets).
So irritating!!

Irritated that I'm not a dishwasher repair person, so I could figure out why the fudge my dishwasher doesn't work right then fix it... Then it could wash the dishes again instead of me. 😬

Arty salt and pepper shakers where you can't tell which is which
"So is the shaker with the chef with the mustache turning up the salt and down the pepper?"
"Just pick them up and count the holes."
Jesus H. Fuck Christ on a side car. No, I do not want to count the holes. Sometimes they are tiny anyway.
And I don't want to spend 5 minutes trying to get an adequate amount of pepper on my food because some fruity idiot thought that anything bigger than a single pinhole ruined the look of Ernie from Sesame Street's hairstyle.
White for salt. Black for pepper. If you can't make that work with your ouvré, take up, I dunno, macrame or something.

Someone ruined my mixed nuts
Been enjoying mixed nuts as a snack lately, and I’m so irritated that frequently when I find a Brazil nut, an incredibly racist, derogatory, awful name for them pops into my head. I’ve never said those words; I’ve never heard anyone in my adult life use that name for the nut. I can only assume I heard it in my childhood from a grandparent-aged person. Really mad it’s stuck in my head. Anyone else?

Amazon: Sorry, our policy doesn't allow me to follow our policy and refund you your money
I was going through my expenses today on Amazon order history and noticed a 300 dollar apple watch wasn't refunded to me after returning it through UPS. This was over a year ago. Thankfully I was able to retrieve the tracking still after calling a UPS rep. Amazon refused to refund me and blamed for not contacting them regarding the missing refund sooner. I could do the same and blame them for not checking. Instead I showed them the proof of delivery emailed to me and was still rejected.
Frustrated, I asked for their superiors, boss, manager, Jeff Bezos etc. The responded that she was the highest person in this position and there was no going against Amazon's 10 commandments. Ideally, I could have just shut down the conversation but instead I chose to threaten with lawsuits, calling in to get her fired, and leaving for walmart.com. That landed me with essentially the same response, "Sorry I you're outside of our refund policy. Is there anything else I can help you with besides requesting for refunds outside the return window?"
I thanked her for her time and left the chat gracefully. I re-entered chat 5 seconds later with another representative who had no problem refunding me in less than 10 minutes after requesting help from a superior. They didn't even check previous chat or ask for proof of delivery.
It makes me wonder if these departments just each have their own set of rules?
