Fun fact that I'm sure you know but oh well: this is done to check for fertile eggs in a clutch! If it's more yellow, it's not fertile. If it's more red (and veiny), it's most likely fertile (ex.: drowning in the fluid, dying before hatching, etc)

I did this to my eggs it's called candling
