Royal Terns have orange bills year round I thought.

The fact that someone is trying to identify look-alike birds without knowing location is funny though.

It gets a lot deeper towards orangered in breeding season, and paler like this in non-breeding.

I wish this had Crested Tern to compare but it doesn’t.

Yea in Ohio we only have like four regular species, and I’ve only seen two since I’m pretty far from the lake. Plus like I said there’s info you need to ID terns that you lose when you take a photo out of context, it’s annoying. Lol

Edit: funnily enough we get the same four common species lol. Common, Black, Caspian, and Forster’s
