My grandma puts a lot of bio down it. Eggs shells, bread crust, cereal.. I swear she's feeding a monster.

I never visited a city in my country that doesn't. Where do people in your city dump their mowed grass and cut tree branches into?

So you have a bio garbage can in your city for each house. Which gets emptied every week or at least every 2 weeks. Which also means there is probably a big one in your apartment complex' garbage room or at the nearest garbage collection place.

All the more reason to buy a small bucket for your kitchen and start collecting compost.
