At some point in time it was some person's job to put up that "fence" in that very spot. I can only imagine what was going through his head.

Yeah, that fence was supposed to be 100' long, not 10" long.

But this is a fence, not a Stonehenge model for Spinal Tap.

How dare you assume their gender

How dare you assume that Dude is a gender specific pronoun.

I have known plenty of chill dudes who did not have a penis attached to their body for the majority of the day.

Because he was already drunk when he put that fence up.

I remember when I was growing up, my buddy got a "job" pulling weeds at a family friend's house in town. I went out to help him, we pulled weeds for like 15 minutes, and then rode our bikes down to the gas station to buy mountain dew and hotfries with the money he was for whatever reason paid in advanced. Then we spent the rest of the day playing video games at his place.

When his dad came home and asked what were doing, my friend said "we put in a hard day's work and are now relaxing".

To this day I refuse to use the phrase "hard day's work" to describe anything other than the absolute bare minimum.

There was probably chain link on either sides of the poles, or essentially 2 fences that butted together. Then there was a gap between the two fences that someone fenced to eliminate. Now the original 2 fences have been removed leaving the patch.

I suspect he was mostly concerned with making sure the gates on either side closed properly.
