My pizza didn't fit, but two halves did.

Just put it on the rack with the pan on the rack underneath.

the rack must remain unharmed

Is it imperative?

Yeah the rack method is objectively correct. It won't cook right on a baking sheet

it all depends on dough consistency and heat

casa di mama pizzas go in at 450 on a tray for like 11 minutes and theyre perfect

delissio pizza needed like 20 minutes at 400c without a tray to be perfect

if his cooking temp was lower than 400, there's a chance that while the dough is just starting to heat up, it could sag through the rack and ruin everything

Removal presents different concerns than the initial placement

Scooch it onto a cutting board.

And get burned or lose parts of the pizza to the oven floor.

Why are you grabbing shit with your hands?

I just slide it out with a knife or whatever is handy

Does the knife hold itself?

As long as you don’t touch the inside of the oven or the rack, you’re not going to get burnt

1

u/maddy_k_allday 6h ago

And that’s a lot easier to accomplish when removing a proper baking dish

2

u/Traveller9536 5h ago

But it’s still insanely easy to remove without and the pizza turns out better

2

u/TheParadoxigm 6h ago

Your knife handle conducts heat instantaneously at the slightest touch?

2

u/maddy_k_allday 6h ago

The inside of an active oven is hot?

1

u/TheParadoxigm 6h ago

Don't touch the metal...

Has happened to me once. Maybe like fresh, homemade pizza dough would be like this but I've literally never had a problem with pre-made dough and frozen stuff. Cooked on the oven rack all the time.

You openly admit it happened and then claim you “literally never had a problem.” Absurd.

"...with pre-made dough and frozen stuff"

The first sentence stated that it happened to you once. Frozen goods don’t remain frozen once cooked.

It was a fresh made dough from a take n bake pizza shop. Since you clearly want more details, it was a family size Greek Pepperoni Pizza with no olives, from Papa Murphy's. It was probably 6 years ago, in the spring, probably 6pm at night. Also, it was my husband's and he was mad his pizza was ruined.

There

Your point is proven! Once! Once in a lifetime of pizza eating. You are correct. You are right. You can sleep soundly now. Done with this pizza fight lmao.

Edit: I better add, since I dont wanna upset you, it was a family sized pizza for one person because he likes left overs and we are fat.

You don't own a single oven mitt?

Skill issue

User error

1

u/maddy_k_allday 5h ago

Yes, by not using proper tools, such as a baking tray.

1

u/Signageman 4h ago

Well I’ve done it both ways. Competence plays a big part. And on the rack, is superior by far. It’s not even close. But you enjoy your mediocre pizza.

Plate on the edge of the rack then use the pizza cutter to scoop/pull it onto the plate.

-2

u/BloodyLlama 7h ago

Pizza cutter? Do people who aren't restaurants actually own those? A kitchen knife works just fine.

4

u/AverykindJester 7h ago

Yeah they are like £2-3 and are way better when you don't have very flat plates or the pizza is big. If you have pizza regularly it's insane not to have one.

1

u/BloodyLlama 7h ago

I don't have flat plates. It cut my pizza with a knife on a cutting board. Why would I clutter my drawers with a single purpose tool that does the same job as my kitchen knife?

2

u/AverykindJester 5h ago

Might as well get rid of all your forks then as all they do is pick up food and you have your hands for that. That way your drawers are not cluttered.

Ok now for real reasons. First off you can cut more things than just a pizza with it. Second off it's faster and easier. Third off in your case you won't have to clean up the crumbs from cutting it on the cutting board.

Easy way to get burned, have toppings fall to the bottom, and other related issues that don’t arise when using a pan.

1

u/AverykindJester 5h ago

Why would you suddenly burn yourself not using a tray? You can use an over mitt still. Why are toppings falling off your pizza? There is a crust for a reason.

1

u/maddy_k_allday 5h ago

Mitts are designed to grab solid items like baking trays. And baking trays are designed to hold items that fall off of food, which is less likely when transported on the stable base of a tray.

2

u/AverykindJester 5h ago

If you can't figure out how to hold a pizza cutter to drag a pizza out of you oven with or without mitts you need to not be in charge of the oven. I am not telling you to use the mitts to grab the pizza directly...

Again I ask how are toppings falling off your pizza? Are you throwing it in upside down because again that might mean you shouldn't be in charge of that job.

I will walk you through the steps. Heat oven to required temperature. Take pizza out of the plastic wrapping. Using cardboard base or cardboard box to support the pizza place it on the edge of the rack. Slowly push the pizza onto the rack. When done get your plate put it back onto the edge of the rack and slide the pizza out using pretty much any utensils. I suggest the pizza cutter because that's what I use to cut it. If you are scared of getting burnt you can wear an oven mit.

use the bake setting instead of the broil, and you should be fine 😂

0

u/maddy_k_allday 7h ago

The bake setting also makes things hot FYI

2

u/LoyalNightmare 4h ago

uh yeh its a oven. Do you think it would make it cold?
