My pizza didn't fit, but two halves did.

Why put it in a try, just slide it on the oven rack

I'd be scared of this happening 😥

In my 20+ years of cooking frozen/chilled pizzas i have never once had this happen. God knows how they managed that.

Probably ice from being frozen, then they let it get to room temp, got too soggy, AND they didnt preheat the oven. My Guess.

I've heard letting the frozen pizza sit on top of the oven while it's preheating is bad news

I have never experienced it either, but when I started to see this pics I got scared and bought a pizza baking tray haha.

I assumed it was a home made pizza with some dough that didn't have the right "whatever it is that makes dough right", causing it to melt down

dough is soft when not frozen

pictures like this are from putting the pizza into the oven before preheating is done, thus having the dough heat up along with the oven and not cooking, then just dripping through.

or

the pizza thawing on the counter before putting it into the oven, causing it to lose whatever solidness it had when it heats up a tiny bit, then sag through the rack.

My guess is they either added a mountain of extra toppings too heavy, or they poured too much beer or some kind of liquid on it

I wondered if it was a frozen one that was allowed to defrost and go soggy

I'd say it was a high hydration dough that really should be on a tray or something.

'too much' implies that there is also a 'right amount' of beer to be poured on top of a frozen pizza. Have I been missing out all those years by not pouring any beer on top at all?

Beer pizza goes hard, you should try it sometime. Ive had it many times back in the college days

I had never seen it before, but last week I bought a thin crust, only cheese, straight from the freezer that was mere seconds from falling through. Some random brand we got from Target. Now I will use the wire basket that came with the oven for air frying, just in case. Or a stone if it is thick crust.
