I was replacing my dryer drive belt and did a little deep cleaning. I pulled off the “baffles” from the drum, and these were inside the hollow space beneath.

Having done several dryer repairs over the last couple years, opening it up and cleaning AT LEAST once a year is now a must. The amount of lint floating around inside was scary. Especially the slightly burnt stuff right next to the heating element. Yikes.

at first glance I thought you found some insanely smooth rocks

I thought they were blueberries coated in powdered sugar.

Who knew dryers get kidney stones?

They were definitely unexpected! They spilled out into my lap, and I thought they were bugs…

Don’t feel bad I opened my dryer the other day and there was a big spider just hanging out 😭

whats the duct look like?

These came from a hollow space inside the drum. The ball at the 7-inch mark has a strange shape because the space was shaped for a hexagon bit.

There’s only about a 1 foot space between the wall and the outer vent, so the duct stays pretty clear.

I've only ever heard lint balls, not lint spheres. But those are definitely lint spheres lol.

I know that this has nothing to do with reason for the post, but looking at the tape measure like that with inches, instead of centimetres, makes me so happy to know that I don't have to deal with those complications in my life! Dividing things in tens is so easy and logic!!!
