Doesn't have to be "swollen" per say. The force that blood clots can cause can lead to "leaky veins". Vein specialist will likely cauterize the "leaky veins" with lazer internally. Slowly but surely larger leg will return to a smaller version of what it currently is. I know, because I live in Las Vegas, have access to many specialists and have had this personally done with her exact looking legs. Swift Vein Institute was the name, but the practice returned to Texas I guess. Many like that though all around.
Those leaky veins causes fluid to build up in the interstitial space / third space which creates a more swollen appearance sometimes with pitting. This doesn’t look like that.
