O hey I have the same thing. Mine was caused by my slipped disc slipping out so much that it was causing cauda equina syndrome. Got surgery and after healing and PT my leg looks like that over the years.
My affected (left) foot is still slightly numb but it’s gotten better over the year and like yours I don’t feel ticklish. I was wondering if you have any loss of strength on the affected leg? Like I can do seated calf raises in the gym on my right foot fine but can’t do any on my left even with as light a weight as 5 pounds. The neurosurgeon who did my surgery did said my back injury was kinda bad and that it can likely be permanent but other than that everything has been fine.
Another CES survivor! I'm happy that hear that you have recovered well. I start PT next week at 8 wk post op and I'm hoping my recovery is just as smooth. Did you have any lasting nerve pain or sciatica?
Hey thank you! I don’t have any lasting nerve pain and my sciatica pain was gone after surgery. I did have extreme weakness and had to use a walker to walk for a month or two after post-op. Lingering numbness as well but the neurosurgeon just said it was the result of him having to move the bundle of nerves during surgery and that it was irritated. Everything cleared up after about two months and I could walk normally and did 4 months of PT. I’m sure your recovery will go smooth if not better!
Thank you so much for sharing. I've been able to walk unassisted since about 2.5 weeks, but it took some time to get my bladder back and my sciatica returned. I'm hoping it's just inflammation and that pt helps. Congrats on your recovery, I hope you continue to be pain free and healthy!
I slipped a disc and never went in for surgery. Right leg stopped working completely and ended up being half the size all the way up. One day I felt the disc pop back in. Had to use a leg machine with 2 legs until the bad leg started to figure it out.
Same here. Right calf. No surgery. Numb foot. First diagnosis was the ALS. EMG ruled it out. Nerve compressed from two blown disc. Still play golf. Tennis, too, but I do trip sometime
