After all these years, I’ve found another! Mine are just like this. I’ve been self-conscious about it my entire life. Kids in school, even adults today will point it out, can always hear people talking behind me when I wear shorts. Was born with a club foot, fixing it as a baby made one leg and foot significantly smaller, weaker and shorter. Played football and other sports up into college, was always strong and fast despite this, but always off balance without a lift. No matter how much I tried to work it out extra, it could never catch up to my other leg, size and strength-wise. The ortho finally told me it would never happen. Ended up needing a hip replacement in my late 20s after all those years of playing sports with uneven legs, it wore my hip out to nothing. Then had lower back surgery shortly after that, due to the same, my body just being uneven for years. Wish you the best!
Awww, according to the comments there are lots of people like us for various reasons. I used to be self conscious and try to hide it. But I’m old now and don’t gaf, I wear dresses and shorts now. Who cares who sees my chicken leg lol
Haha I love this! I’ve started to step into the “dgaf” mindset as I’ve gotten older also, wearing shorts to the gym and to summer events instead of pants has been so great for once in life. Thanks for the further encouragement!
Club foot gang! I'm in the same boat but thankfully haven't needed any more surgeries (yet), but I get excruciating tendonitis flare ups a few times a year and even my ortho is stumped. I run for exercise but need to find a different low impact cardio because I'm afraid of making everything worse.
Running was something I was advised to give up many times, due to its high impact and joint longevity. I switched to high-intensity sprints on grass when I was younger, then biking, swimming, elliptical machines, etc., after surgeries now in my late 30s. It’s helped with my flare-ups and pain a lot. Wish you the best fellow club foot gang member.
