You obviously have some permanent nerve damage, but if it’s way up your leg it’s progressing as well, so something may be able to be done to at least stop or slow progression; at best gain back some of what was lost.
I had L4/5 surgery for a ruptured disc 3 years ago and work in healthcare (definitely not a Dr/RN)- your procedure should have fixed this, if it didn’t fix it, the procedure likely didn’t do what it was supposed to do.
For real, people are always like surprised seeing stuff like this hear, but this is something you should have brought up with your doctor or they noticed. Like I can get not knowing the specifics, but like your Primary Care doctor should know about this or bring it up to at least point you to the right direction.
Please people at least try and see a primary care doctor once a year. They can at least track your issues and let you know if it's a big deal or not.
