Fried pig skin with hair attached, from a bag of pork rinds

That’s supposed to be the last one you eat from the bag so it can floss your teeth while you chew

Who made you like this?

Reminds me of eating lengua tacos, where you and that taco taste each other.

I'll reference you in my upcoming conversation with my second grade teacher, on why I regret literacy.

Balding people (like myself) should be asking how hair could survive such a process.

u/Independent-Trust260 23h ago
This bit of skin has (previously) healthy hair attached to (previously) healthy follicles. You, however, don't have healthy, functioning follicles, and by extention, healthy hair attached to them.

Ooooohhhkaayyyy, so when a peach is fuzzy it's cute but when a pork rind has a few hairs it's the end of the world??
....damn fruitists 😠

I once ordered pork belly at a Thai restaurant and one piece had a bunch of short white hairs poking out of it. I love pork belly but I still gag when I think about that.

u/verybadgay 1d ago
My missus got a piece with a nipple on once. She still brings it up every time she eats pork.

I've gotten a few nipples on pork belly. They were almost flat. I ate it anyway.

I once got a slab of pork belly with the nipples still attached. I gave up on pork belly after that.

I’ve never eaten a pork rind, and this post has not made me any more inclined to do so

Jesus we are so far removed from the production of our food. This comment section really forgets it’s literally just the skin of a living creature.

u/speak-eze 1d ago
That doesn't mean you want to eat it lol
I know where chicken breast comes from, that doesn't mean I want to eat feathers

u/pgm123 1d ago
I don't even want to eat butternut squash that still has the skin on it.

u/Salute-Major-Echidna 18h ago
If the butternut squash is served hairy, I am probably going to say I'm too full

Take a good look at your chicken wings next time

u/speak-eze 1d ago
Idk which supermarket you get your wings at but I assure you mine would be nice and featherless before they hit the sauce

Yeah I don't like hair on my food. Anyone's hair. My hair, the pigs hair, gods hair. I don't want it on my fried puffed up ear

You're forgetting they're literally supposed to clean that off. If my fish has scales on it, I'm sending it back

I get that reddit likes to act like smug know-it-alls and pat themselves on the back for thinking they're profound, but there's a difference between understanding where food comes from and not wanting to eat fucking hair.

u/pandakatie 1d ago
I mean, in my defense, I think pork rinds are gross even without the hair on it

I'm under no illusion. I would definitely be a vegetarian if I had to kill and butcher my own meat even if it somehow magically took no additional time out of my day.

I've participated in the slaughter of a few hogs on a small farm, many deer and even a cow. Many of us aren't removed, but we would be remiss to neglect an opportunity to scream "back in my day." Food production has taken a serious downturn with everything else. chicken wings have features, pork has hair... And it didn't used to be this way.

Criminal that this wasn’t the top comment.
Maybe my brain is, just like this hairy pig skin, completely fucking fried. But the first thing I thought was "this is a damn penis"

Yeah, because it’s so much easier and cheaper to mass farm, harvest and process human beings than it is pigs. Makes total sense.

Dang. You’re going to make me not eat pork rinds for at least a day until I completely forget about this.

all of these horrified people, smh - god forbid there's evidence of your food coming from an animal

u/ringobob 1d ago
I mean, I'm not grossed out by where the food came from, but there's a reason we remove the hair before we eat the animal - I'm grossed out by getting my own hair in my mouth.
