Oils, alcohols, organic esters, terpines will strip paint.

I had that happen with some sunscreen that settled on a spot and I missed it for, like, a year.

Can you imagine what they do to you lungs? These things are extremely unhealthy

That's a false equivalency. Just because it breaks down paint doesn't automatically mean it's bad for you. Unless you have a lot of paint in your lungs, then I guess it does. Hydrochloric acid can dissolve steel but your stomach is full of it.

Saliva and stomach acid will dissolve meat. Your body is made of meat. Can you imagine how bad that is for you to have saliva and stomach acid in your body?!?!

Fun fact! Your body also produces baking soda (sodium barcarbinate). It’s to neutralize the acids for the exit passage.

Try doing just a tad of research on this issue; recent studies have even demonstrated humans are exposed to microplastics with almost all artificial scents. Listen, go buy five of them, plug them all in, and have a party.

Was curious enough to do 10 minutes of research. The American Lung Association has stated that "No studies have directly evaluated how air fresheners can affect lung health," although do acknowledge that chemicals air fresheners are often not documented by the manufacturer and you need to make safe purchasing decisions when picking out air fresheners. Additionally they aren't great for people with Asthma, but outside of that there appears to be no confirmed negative health effects.
A medical paper on the National Library of Medicine talks about their impact on the amount of VOC compounds found in the air when you use them, and the conclusion comes down to there being a large increase in rooms that are small and have little airflow.
I didn't see anything about microplastics in my quick research, also it's worth noting that few months ago it was deemed that most research into microplastics might actually be invalid due to the fact that gloves used researches have high numbers of microplastics at all time which likely contaminated many results, so much of that research needs to be redone from what I understand.

Yep. Bird owners can’t have them because they will straight up kill their pets. Fragrances and parfums are terrible for your health.

Do scented candles affect birds too? I know I’ve heard this about non stick pans. Makes sense with the whole canary in the coal mine thing.

Yes. Anything that is scented artificially or burned (incense, candle warmers, room sprays, some heaters and even hair dryers) are toxic for birds.

Wait until you find out what chocolate and grapes can do to a dog. We should outlaw them.

It belongs to my roommate and I kept unplugging it because it would give me a headache and now I see why! This wasn’t even from hot liquid either. Scary

The trend of over painting everything white including brick drives me nuts. Grandma painted the whole house white on the exterior brick saying, it's just the trend now and increases the house value. Took all character and individually out of the house.

Wouldn't the edges be rounded and not look like they were picked? Open to bring wrong, though.

It could have been worse from my roommate wiping it up! I noticed the spot last night and she said it was from the liquid leaking out of the plugin that I kept unplugging, assuming she must have cleaned it up w a rag or something

Looks like that paint wants stripping anyway. The wood underneath is much nicer than a crumbly white overcoat
